A shame the second hand doesn't line up with the minute markers.
@AlexanderB.Күн бұрын
The watch itself isn't bad but I've seen too many watches with that particular VK64 movement. The lack of a running second makes the respective watch feel a little lifeless. There is an alternative movement with a running second and a sweeping chrono hand made by Miyota, the 6S21 calibre.

I built my own field watch for under $75 US with parts from AliExpress. The case is 39.5 mm and has a screw down crown and I opted for the NH38. For near $300 US I'm going to have to give the watches in the video a big 👎.

Well then, that’s it I guess. We should all just order from Aliexpress. 🙄 I think it’s great you built your own watch on the cheap, but not everyone wants to do that. 👍

I own so manny watches and some are very pricey but I must say this is one of the most beautiful designed diving watch I ever saw. It looks like the mix of Orient saturation diver and skx .
@AlexanderB.8 күн бұрын
I like this kind of watch and the design speaks to me. I really considered a purchase but what keeps me from ordering one is the way the end links are connected to rest of the bracelet. My wrist is just about 7 inch and I've seen other reviews where there is a gap because the first bracelet links drops right down as you mentioned.
@watchreport7 күн бұрын
@@AlexanderB. to me it’s less about the bracelet and end links and more about the straight profile of the case and lugs. If it had a male end link, there would be even more gap. Now on my 7 1/2 inch wrist there is barely a gap, but I have flat wrists which I think is the more important factor. Since the case and lugs don’t curve down, if you have a more rounded wrist there might be some gap, but on a flat wrist it should be fine. It’s still a relatively small watch at 39 by 46.7mm or so. For my wrist I can’t see it fitting much better and it’s very comfortable but every wrist is different, and I’ve definitely had watches where they should fit perfect and be comfortable and they don’t.
@AlexanderB.7 күн бұрын

@@miroslavjagodic6015 nice. Hope you enjoy it. Like I said, prototypes or samples, anything that’s unfinished, whether they be watches, cars, phones etc. are hard to review. It's a very nice watch, the colourful design speaks to me, but there there things I personally would change about this watch: 1. Add some brushing to the case as you said. 2. Make this a 40 mm instead of 42 3. Include FKM straps instead of Silicone, simply can't wear them. Marloe are doing a certified pre-owned thing like Rolex do 😄
@watchreport20 күн бұрын
Yes Rolex does do that, but it’s rare to see a microbrand (or much smaller brand doing it). I will say as far as this teal silicone at least, it’s much better than I expected as it doesn’t really pick up lint like ones I’ve previously had and doesn’t seem to bother me that much though I purposely did not leave it on with this strap longer than a few hours as I was afraid of it bothering my skin in this hot weather. All that said they have lots of other straps available beyond the silicone ones.

It’s nonsensical to write “Black edition” on the dial. I have eyes - I can see it’s the black edition. Model names ideally should be on case backs if anywhere, as they serve no functional purpose. Having movement type and WR rating serves a functional purpose which is why I prefer stuff like “Automatic. 200m” in that negative space below the pinion. At least the other models list “10ATM” but that’s a pretty low rating for a dive watch.
@watchreport20 күн бұрын
I’ll only comment on the 10 ATM rating and dive watch. This isn’t a dive watch. They call it a nautical watch, it can be called a sports watch if you will but it’s a watch that can be worn while boating, fishing, swimming etc, but it is not meant for diving, but both crowns do screw down.

Im a huge Chronograph Fan, and a stickler on Dial Layout, from Colored Sub-dials to sub-dial spacing an Layout. While I normally like to stay around the 40 to 42mm Case size, this Smaller one with the Rotational Bezel really nails it. Just the right amount of Color used but not overly Done. I do wish these microbrands doing Chronographs.. would start using both the Moonphase comp instead of the standard "Boring" 24hr Sub-comp. Also want to see more Chronos with the "Fast Runner" Complication aka "1/10" counter. That extra action when the Chronograph is engaged is Cool even though it runs for just 30 Secs. Some examples are the Gigandet Race King (which are hard to find nowadays) about Vintage Chronograph has this feature as well.. and any Ronda based Chronographs use it as well...... ie Victorinox, Swiss Army, Technomarines (Pre-Invicta) some Movados and Glycine Combat Chrono etc.

I'm not knocking your points in this video at all, but it boggles my mind how people don't realize watch size is directly proportional to wrist size. Exactly as you said, if your wrist is over a certain diameter, move up a size. People are like, "It's too small for me..." Okay, how big are YOU? It's so odd. Having a 6.5" wrist, this watch is amazing, and I'm so happy that Marathon offers multiple size options. Outstanding watch for the right wrist!
@watchreport29 күн бұрын
I’ve become much more aware or accepting for lack of a better word since this video on smaller size watches. A lot of them do look very small on my wrist but it can still give perspective to those with smaller wrists, so I try as much as I can to review multiple size watches.
