One of the best hacks you can do in traditional archery from the beginning: Always train and shoot both sides. left and right handed. Its a unique potential a traditonal bow offers to the shooter: It's designed to shoot it from both sides. No modern compound or even recurve bow can do this.

Try pronating your draw hand more, this will decrease the likelihood of the tip of your index finger crossing the string. I would also experiment with the use of cloth sports tape to line the inside face of your ring, this will give some texture to prevent it from twisting on your thumb, and can also be used to wrap the portion of the ring along the back of your thumb for a tighter fit. One thing to remember is that a thumb draw should be a longer draw than the slavic draw. Your shoulders look a little collapsed in this video when you thumb draw, because you are using the same anchor point for both types. If your bow will permit it, try a longer draw. That's where the real benefit of the thumb draw comes in. Look at the drawing form for the Gao Yin method. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9x3dLxzss7Ge40.html Holding extra arrows with the draw hand (with the pinky/ring finger) will likely be faster with thumb draw, but it will take some practice to do that smoothly. Last, there is a compromise, a type of Persian draw, in which the thumb is used to draw, but it is held with the middle finger, while the index finger stays along the shaft of the arrow. Worth trying.

I think you've been a little unfair to this bow... firstly it's not designed to be used as a running bow .... its heavy and too long for running around with, stand still with it and its good. Secondly you got a left hand bow, but these bows are side specific... your bow is designed to be held in the RIGHT hand not the left . I know you got the left hander so you could use Slavic release, but its the wrong hand. Think of it as deliberately wearing your shoes on the wrong feet, you can do it but its very uncomfortable. Lastly its a centre shot bow, khatra is pointless, there should be almost no paradox. Archery has come from many places and has existed since, at least, the ice age. Bows and techniques have come about to fit particular needs. The black hunter isn't supposed to be used for running Archery. I wouldn't use a yumi bow or an English longbow for running Archery either.... they're not designed for it.

The elitism is from a minority. Unfortunately, it also happens to be the same people who are equally ignorant, conceited, LOUD, and never shut it under any circumstances. It doesn't matter what they're doing. I've seen it in compound guys, recurve, competition, hunters, and even hobby enthusiasts. Those loud ones? The reason they want to trash on you is because they worked really hard and have rode the struggle bus for so long just to develop basic bare minimum stuff most guys start to pick up on in an afternoon that they know they're terrible and have to invent nonsense in their heads to justify why they're so bad and need to put SO much effort into it. So they use whatever flavor of purism they ascribe to as a crutch, excuse, and reason to snob on everyone else. Is that always the case? No, but it definitely is the majority of them. 😂

I have another tip for improving accuracy. We tend to shoot in the middle of a target/targetface, wall, log, etc. And we think we are aiming at a specific colour/circles, but we arent. Our brain is jsut good at finding and aiming at the middle of a thing. Meaning the brain rly likes to keep that sight picture (middle of the target) and then match it with correct muscle memory. But this is too convenient and not useable in a real life scenario. And in a sense just a prerecorded sight setting. So a good way to break this illusion of good aim, its good to add multiple "off angled" targets, some small some big some round, some square, som random, some coloured, some transparent etc. This way you can improve your aim a lot.

This is probably why the standards of so called “ Competitive Archery “ don’t recognize this discipline of archery. It’s too physically demanding for those “ fluffy “ archers choosing NOT to run or walk or have any extra physical involvement in their shooting, other than shooting at a non moving static target. And yes……there are many so called “ elitists “ archers will fail in a survival situation against multiple targets ( foes ). Thanks for sharing brotha , love your content 😎🏹🏹🏹👍
