harbor freight is literally hassle free at anytime.. 😏 snap on, new truck driver no warranty.. have to wait a few weeks to get tool back
@everythingyukon16 сағат бұрын
I don’t know that I’ve ever waited for a tool to come back, in fact, my Snap-On guy has drop ship stuff to my shop in a couple days and that’s not even for warranty that’s new purchase
@anthonyrash7484Күн бұрын
HF can take care of you 7 days a week. Your lucky to see a snap on man once a week, much less you would have to wait a week or 3 weeks for any tool. Agree there is a difference in quality, but since every tool maker has a lifetime warranty, why waste $300 on a tool that if you can get it half price that does the same job.

i have seen were items made in asia are lower in cost “most of the time” but are cheaper in how they are built, far lower quality in fit and form, and do not last as long. and this is on items that are there to hold humans while there car is doing 80-90 mph. down to just a lowly switch. i am not in the army will never be ( age 65) but when you need to dig a hole right now to help get out of the way of those high speed stingers. cheap is not worth ones life.

It’s that half joke of car manuals of yesteryear showed how to set valve lash, manuals of today tell you not to drink the battery acid

People that that say are not seasoned mechanics. Just like the machining trade, we don’t spare any $ on measuring tools. You literally get what you pay for. What I’m saying is value is equal to quality in design, fit and finish, accuracy, material, time in manufacturing, etc. That guy definitely doesn’t drive a diesel, more like a Prius

I’ve not been active on my tools for a few years. I would love a chance to put these tools head to head on a project. In many situations a new or vintage snapon will be the only tool to withstand the stress, or the only tool that fits. But for many tasks, the cheapest tools laying around or available will do exactly what you need and there is no advantage to brand. Some of my “cheap crap” has accomplished tasks that that Snapon tools cannot. My Snapon tools have served me well throughout the years, but many other brands have earned their keep along with them.

If you harbor freight guys think there are some awesome I dare you to get rid of all your tools that are not harbor freight and work professionally for one year. Let see how long you make it. Straight harbor freight. Let’s see it.

For starters why not fill a box with HF, and whatever you break, you replace with tool truck brands, seems like the smartest idea money wise

You'll end up with Snap-on. Buy the set from a retired mechanic, try to help him with a little x-tra, you're stealing them anyway.

Both made out of the country
@everythingyukon5 күн бұрын
@@Chapscruisers Some Snap-on IS made other places other than the US of A (most snappy hard parts/hand tools are in fact, not) buuut, that literally has nothing to do with it, you CAN produce good stuff in China, Japan, Mexico, etc… but that costs more, simple as that. For example, CAT hasn’t produced an excavator in the US for more than 30 years, the parts are built in China & Japan, shipped to the lower 48 & assembled… good ain’t cheap, cheap ain’t good, a guy can sometimes find a middle ground, but knowing the hard limits on either end is crucial

The funny part is what you were actually trying to say went right over his head. Of course you weren't trying to say everything has to be the best right off the bat, more that if you use these things every single day the little things like trigger action being more controllable become more apparent and appriciated.
