Japan hands down wins on snow quantity, even a bad season is insane

With the cheap yen now, are the trip prices cheaper also ?

Do you maybe have a link to the finca you were staying at? That place looks incredible and I'm currently planning a DWS trip to Mallorca, as well!
@TheSlipperySlopeКүн бұрын
My friend booked it. I think through booking.com. It was near Inca. But there are so many options for fincas and other accommodation on the island so should be easy to find something that fits your needs.

do you need ropes? or are most of the approaches down to the water quite easy epic video btw
@TheSlipperySlope8 күн бұрын
Generally no. Sometimes you can either jump in the water or downclimb. We used one at Cala Brava to lower camera gear and get out of the water. So it doesn’t harm to bring one, but at the popular places you should be fine without.

Very impartial and resourceful information. I have been skiing in Japan in every season, had been to Europe a few times in recent years, and only 1-2 times in N. America and New Zealand. I shared almost exactly the same opinions as you. In fact if self drive, there are considerable ski resorts of small size in Japan for one-day skiing that are very enjoyable as well.

I couldnt stop laughing everytime time you said "Cluster Fuck"🤣Im so keen to go skiing in Europe and Japan now! Im from Australia and we do have ski resorts, but they are very small and not much snow during the season. Awesome videos mate!!😄

I guess the Tahoe area and Mammoth isn't on your radar for comparison. That said, Japan just isn't talked about much, so thanks for a much needed look at this part of the skiing world. Cheers!

They look awesome in concept but icing and fluff and weight makes it really niche. Tech bindings are far superior imo.

I liked this video, still, it could be even better if you keep the summary and written comments longer so we don't have to rewind and pause. Thank you.

First time in Niseko last winter. Can't recommend it enough. Some of the best snow conditions. Very reasonable pricing (compared to US). I'm an advanced beginner and the runs were green / cruisey blues in my opinion. Not nearly crowded as other North American resorts. We plan to return and explore other resorts.

Crowds seem a real problem in US, unless it's school holidays, especially around New Year never noticed crowds or queues that much in Europe.

Yeah, Slippery Slope upload! How did you survive to pizzabox at the top of Otaru! I reckon I'm just a tiny bit shorter than you, and the exit ramp of that chairlift was impossible! Comes in so low that my knees were up by my ears.

The coldest place I ever skied was Whiteface Mountain in upstate NY in 1981. Got to minus -20 degrees Fahrenheit in the evening. As a kid my mouth went dry because i was so fascinated by how your spit would freeze before it hit the ground.
