I don’t understand the significance of “ beginner “ or the term “ learning curve. “ Of course I shave every day. So that might make a difference. But I bought a 37C and have been very pleased with it from the first time I picked it up. I use Astra or Gillette Silver Blue or Voskhod blades. They are inexpensive and I change blades after Three shaves.

Its wierd how white people dont really rinse that well after using soap. I have friends who use hand soap and rinse for 2 seconds and wipe their hands while theires still suds on their hands. It bothered me so much. That you used detergent which is fine but you just wiped it ? That doesnt bother you? I would have rinsed it under a sink and than wiped with alcohol. You have to einse off every srop of soap and suds. Soap is mechanical in killing germs and not chemically, its the act of water rinsing away the soap that the germ slides off with it. Its not like rubbing alcohol orhydropgen peroxide where you leave it on your skin for a certain amount of time to kill germs. They do that because its the chemical that kills the germs, soap has no chemicals to kill germs. You have to rinse off the soap suds completely or your just wiping off suds with germs ans transferring it to your towel or whatever You are wiping yourself with. Plus doesn't it bother you with that slippery slimming feel if you don't rinse off completely? So weird

I got corrosion on the top piece threads. Try to prevent it by putting Vaseline on them. Maybe I'll soak it in vinegar to remove the corrosion.

When you use different shave soaps does the different scents mix on your brush?

i always struggle with shaving because i have very course, thick hair that grows in and it seems like everytime i try the blade clogs immediately somehow despite not making any progress with the cut itself. It takes alot of effort for a bare minimum shave that leaves my face red and irritated and not completely clean. Video helped a bit though, hopefully can replicate it.

I use the Wilkinson Sword Classic(black version of the razor) with Gillette Blue blades and get irritation on the neck when I go against the grain. I also used BIC Astor blades and got irritation on the neck even when I shaved after more then a month(in that month I trimmed with a beard trimmer). Usually when I shave more then a 3 day beard I get no irritation.

Great waste of water. Why not briefly turn on when rinsing the razor or put some water in the sink and agitate the razor.

One thing that Cella does better than a lot of soaps is softening the beard. In all other respects it is the equal of most far more expensive artisan soaps.

I’m a big Proraso green fan. But when I load my brush, I go directly to my face. I do bowl lather once in awhile. By generally I like to work up a lather where it will do the most good; on my face. Good video.

So I'm going to leave a negative review about DOVO - the company and its unethical business practices. I noticed most comments on here are about this guy who uploaded this review of Dovo straight razors. Again, this is about the company itself. So, I purchase one of their most expensive razors recently in April/May 2023... I get this Dovo razor - from within the U.S. - I believe from Minnesota or somewhere in the midwest (where I think their trained specialist is located), and the damn thing is barely honed/sharpened. So I spent hundreds of dollars to get a dull straight razor?! And here's where they get you... So DOVO uses their lone-man, specialist, in the midwest, to properly sharpen/hone/treat their products - BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR THIS SERVICE! YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO RECEIVE AN ACTUALLY HONED AND SHARP RAZOR THAT SHOULD ALREADY BE JUST THAT! I contact Dovo company and receive complete silence from them! Like I told them, I spent an entire career in hospitality management - selling whatever companies products that I worked for (F&B). I managed bars, restaurants, clubs... I was in customer service - to some degree, overseeing teams of people to deliver a good product for decades. Well, these capitalists, fail miserably! It's literally like buying a car, signing all the paperwork but then being told, the tires are extra! Unf-ing believable DOVO! Hundreds of dollars for a dull blunt razor THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROFESSIONALLY HONED/SHARPENED - AND GUESS WHAT DOVO, A GOOD PRODUCT DELIVERED TO A PAYING CUSTOMER!!! Failure DOVO!!!

I had never used a DE safety razor before today. I got this from Amazon this afternoon and shaved in the shower a couple hours later. I didn't know what I was doing, but I got a VERY close shave with no nicks or cuts. I can now throw away my old cartridge razors. :-)

Do you know if the R 41 stainless steel head is stainless steel. I got my regular R 41 today and it’s the best double edge razor I’ve ever owned. It’s not aggressive. It’s efficient. One pass. No blood.

I just got mine today and the quality is 100%. The handle could be more grippy. And the overhang on the side of the blade is annoying. Why would they design the blade to be exposed on the sides. Happy with my purchase.

Lol! 🤣 I dont even care what Women likes, I Shave 🪒 my Face everyday! Its a Part of my everyday Hygiene, as a Former Military guy I served in The USMC. Cleanliness, Neatness are the concepts of Discipline. When you have self discipline it becomes your Reputation, thats how you earn Respect, Gratitude and Good Representation. I dont care what Women think or want. After All wether you are shaved, or bearded or cuffed they will Cheat on you, used you, drained you and dumped you when they got nothing to squeeze on you like lemon. Until they replace you with another new guy that they can victimized in the plantation world.

That definately not, too much water. Dunno how dry u like it but its always better to have water In ur lather, as it makes it slick.
