In this video you talked about safely supporting your car with jackstands and putting the tire under the car for added safety. I gave you a like just for that.

I don't remember figuring that out until after I uploaded the video. I think someone else brought that up in another comment. Learned a lot on this project and these comments have been a lot of help.

I got gas, and then my car would crank, but not start after that fill up. Since then I have tried to figure out everything on my own because I can’t afford to get it towed but the issue I believe is this solenoid. So my question is, could a bad solenoid cause a vehicle to dump fuel out straight to the ground when filling?

To put it on, just spray with wd40 and use a dead blow hammer... I've done hundreds of em and it take about 2.5 mins to put the new one that way
@hayseedfarm
@hayseedfarm 6 ай бұрын
Tried that. Didn’t work. Maybe something to do with the part. Do you buy motorcraft bushings? From the other comments on here, I gather there is a split in how easy or difficult it is to install this bushing, ranging from a couple of minutes with a dead blow hammer to never attempt it again and buy the whole control arm.

It could be part of the issue, but if all vents won’t blow hot you have other problems.

In this video I still had stock wheels and tires. The tires are 30s. I had 33s on after the bumper upgrade, but had to trim the body mount behind the rear wheels for them to fit.

Here’s my advice. Buy a complete Motorcraft LCA with everything on it and you won’t have to fight this. The other bushing and ball joint will have wear also. 2023 price is around $130ea. The threaded rod idea is good if you just replace the rear bushing.

I just did my front ones and went through the same thing till I figured out that the after market ones are a hair smaller so I took a wire wheel and cleaned the rust and used soap and water and it went right on with 3 wacks of the hammer

This is EXACTLY why I make these videos. I'm not a professional or have a lot of experience, but I believe in the value of figuring things out so you better understand how your car works. A shop you can trust is a great resource, but simple stuff like this is a great way to know you vehicle better.

a lot of youtube tutorials about replacing this lower bushing are lies they cut away the hard parts and tell you its easy and dont try to replace that bushing on the Taurus it as no alignment slots so its impossible to line it up when putting it back on so just get the whole control arm

I’m having similar issues in my 2016 explorer. 2 mechanics now tell me it’s the entire rack and want almost $4000 for parts and labor. Might try this, what could it hurt lol.
@hayseedfarm
@hayseedfarm Жыл бұрын
Give it a shot! Just make sure to secure your steering wheel so that you don’t over extend your clock spring like I did. Otherwise it’s a quick fix to your steering issues. Worst case scenario you’re swapping out the rack anyway.
