Great video but how is there any room to push the nut off of the flange is right there?

Awesome. This is similar to the Ticking Stickla approach used in carpentry. See KZfaq search for "woodworking ticking stick"

Wondering why you do a final adjustment once the boat is in the water? Do you go for a run with the motor and tighten according to the drip frequency? Great video and background music! Thanks

Very good idea ! I’m intending on replacing all my through hulls .

If you enlarge to two 12 volt batteries, run them on separate chargers and connect them to separate loads. This isolates them so they don't fight each other. Chasing false goals and batteries in parallel are the most common griefs in land or sea solar panel systems. If you need a lighter load, buy a small 12 volt chest freezer and always run it on ECO mode, to prolong appliance life. The big fridge can then hold your charts, binoculars, and cameras.

Someone apparently didn't know what a "ticking stick" was. There is absolutely NO reason to have so many notches going down each side of the stick.

Hose clamps on the shaft appear to be incorrectly fitted. Each pair of jubilee clips should be fitted in opposing directions. Yours are all fitted in the same direction?

Dose it do the same as a tick stick only the creation of this stick is unnecessarily more work to do

For anyone interested, that prop puller is called an Algonac Prop Puller. It is sometimes called a Minderman Prop Puller. There is a KZfaq somewhere about the same puller being used underwater. Make sure you have a line tied to the puller or you will have to search for it in the mud and gunk under the boat.

Nice video! Put the seems at 120 degrees, you can put the full length packing around to measure the length in one go. Make a shallow incision but don'r cut it on the shaft ;-)

Dude. That was very educational. So what is the final adjustment. What is this thing supposed to do?

Tighten it to where it allows 6 to 10 drops of water every minute so that it keeps everything lubricated

Is it an ancient method or is there some complicated concepts I do not understand? You could as well just trace it directly on the cardboard and create the exact shape.
@raywright24019 ай бұрын
For that to work correctly the stick would have to be at a right angle at every mark. Not easy to do visually.
@Dr.Reason Жыл бұрын
Lol, there may be a situation when this would be more useful, but in the described situation, and since you already went to all the work to get your cardboard laid out next to your work, a simple straight stick with a single notch and a pencil would trace that curve directly to your cardboard. Lot less work.
@raywright24019 ай бұрын
not without being at 90 degrees along every path with the pencil and stick; nearly impossible visually.

Good technique, but I think you would be better tying a prusik hitch for your friction knot. It's easier to tie , used less rope, and virtually bullet proof.

Cual es el precio de una propela así?
@oddjobbob874210 ай бұрын
If you’re asking the price of the prop puller it’s about $400 USD. It is called an Algonac Prop Puller. It is sometimes called a Minderman Prop Puller.
