You mentioned buying a winch. Have you discussed that and buying quality bumpers in a video? I had a JKU bumper start to come towards me 2 weekend ago while helping a stranger

The orange JT has a HellCat swap and normally sits on 42’s. They put 40’s in for JJUSA. They did the bobbed bed this last winter

In the spirit of 2-door vs 4-door, you could also expand that to comparing the different models (CJ, YJ, TJ, JK, JL) and then Wrangler vs Gladiator (especially when discussing stuff like departure angles). And here lately, we have even more choices with the addition of the 392, diesel, 4xe and whatever else is out there that I'm forgetting. And while we're discussing engines, what about aftermarket engine swaps like the old school LS or the newer Hellcat. Then that opens up discussions about trail etiquette and loud exhausts. I have a suggestion ... I was looking back at your previous episodes to see if you've already talked about any of this but it's difficult to know from just looking at the episode title. It's easy enough now to open each one and read the description but when you're 30 or 40 deep into these, that will be a little harder to do. Love the podcast and I'm hoping I can catch up on the ones I've missed.

I would love to know like WAYYYYY ahead of time next time next time you guy's go. And as long as Bobby brings his 4RUNNER back I'll bring my 97 limited as well and see if I can keep up on the trails. I would have 2 b put in the middle because I've never done the ROCK CRAWL THING B4....

Talk to that Everyday Offroad guy again, he's an expert on the 3.8. He'll give you a list of 3.8 problems you didn't know existed lol. As for me, my '11 JK 3.8 was bought new by me and has been the most reliable engine i've had...in ANYTHING. Just over 200,000 miles now and outside of valve cover and oil pan gaskets AND good routine maintenance...not many problems to speak of. Still running great!

I've got 198,000 on my JK 3.8 and it has been nothing but GOOD for me! Running 4.88 gears and 37's and it feels like a stock setup.

You can always sleeve and gusset it to protect the housing. Finance wise it’s not bad if you can do the work yourself. Axle / ujoint I can’t help as I have 44’s and went rcv shafts. Most everything depends on how you step on the skinny pedal. Just remember you ain’t running king of the hammers

Great list. Skid plates are a good idea. I still need to get some for my JKU. As far as recommendations, I've gotten a lot of use out of the JScan app and a cheap bluetooth ODB adapter. Regarding wheeling, you mentioned a few changes you'd make to the drivetrain, do you have any recommendations for the engine or any other under-the-hood components (cooling, battery, etc)? What about lighting as in better headlights, fog lights, bumper lights, a-pillar lights, etc?
@875fps2 ай бұрын
I don't remember if I did this with the built-in options on the Jeep or if I used one of those programmers you need when you go with bigger tires (like the JScan app or a Superchips Flashcal), but a couple of recommendations that I've really enjoyed is turning off that dinging when you don't have the seatbelt fastened and having my fog lights come on when I put the Jeep in drive.
