I like the idea of praying the Angelus at Lauds, Sext & Compline (sunrise, noon & 9pm) I don't always get to it, but it's nice to also pray the Rosary at Terce (9a) and do some Bible Study/Lectio Divina at None (3p)...sometimes those two get overlooked because of the daily tasks that must be accomplished, but when possible it's an ideal practice, and if you really have time the readings of the Divine Office are good at the appointed times too...this level of pseudo-monastic rigor as a layperson can really keep you grounded in ways very similar and even deeper than the Muslim Call to Prayer is...I even have the different hours set on my phone with church bell alarms.

I love the small of incense in the morning. You are a good soul no matter what church you would go to.

Im a High Church Anglican considering catholicism and I have to be honest, most Roman Catholic Churches could learn a thing or two about a reverent liturgy from the Anglicans. I live in Phoenix so there are a million catholic churches, I could not believe how so many of them have praise and worship "bands" - I cannot take that seriously.

Welcome to the family of Christ. Ave Christus Rex 🇻🇦❤. ★It's just my suggestion Sister plz don't use Re-Baptized bcz Re-Baptism is a heresy in Catholic Church. Just telling you to know.😅 There maybe another word which is okay to use bcz some people will believe we can have baptism more that once. Which is a misuse of a Sacrament in Catholic Theology. ★{According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), baptism is a sacrament that imprints an indelible spiritual mark on the soul, signifying a person's permanent belonging to Christ. This spiritual mark is irreversible and cannot be erased by any sin. As a result, baptism is given once for all and cannot be repeated (CCC 1272, 1280). The teaching that re-baptism is impermissible aligns with the Church's understanding of the sacrament's unique and enduring effect.}

Protestant response. Just a minor clarification from a Protestant perspective. One is converted to the Lord Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. One converts to this or that denomination or church. The two are not the same. Blessings!

You mentioned College Station so I assume you are a TAMU Aggie and you went to St. Mary's. My son is an Aggie and attended there as well as the church in Bryan. I'm so happy you had that experience. My story is much like yours as I grew up in the Presbyterian faith as well. I was fortunate to marry a Catholic but it was 25 years before I became Catholic myself. Our children were raised in the Catholic faith and over many years and continually attending Mass with my family that I finally became Catholic myself.

I cringe when I hear guitar music and bongo drums. They should be outlawed in all Catholic Churches. And yeah, I said it.

Well, I guess it’s a ‘two-way spiritual street.’ I was born and raised a Catholic but when I became an adult who could reason for myself, I converted to Protestant. I have realized many Catholic teachings are either man-made or simply UNBIBLICAL! If you really want to know some of the reasons then leave me a comment. For those who have converted or are converting to Catholics, I hope you really know what you get yourself into! The linked video below is a shocking example why I have not regretted converting to Protestant. You can verify the information in that video for yourself on the internet. Remind you, the Catholic Church has been claiming their Pope is the Vicar of Christ and INFALLIBLE! For me, I HAVE ALWAYS DOUBTED THAT HE IS! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e9yai9h9vbWWZIU.htmlsi=ixFNKoqpuAg8_DKH

Excellent conversion story. I left the Catholic Church soon after turning 18 years old because I guess that’s what 18-year-olds do when they’re given their independence lol. Leaving the Catholic Church may have seemed fun at the time, but it led me into some very corrupt habits. Decades later, I decided to get back into Christianity, but this time I wanted to find the real church - one that followed the teachings like the earliest Christians would have been. But much to my surprise after lots of reading and research I ended up going back to the Catholic Church- lol. Surprise surprise. I’m very lucky because there is a church nearby that does a Latin mass on Sundays, which I attend every week.. and two or three times a week I go to a NO daily mass at the church closest to my house; But I have to avoid the Sunday mass at this church, because the music is terrible. I would go to the Latin mass further down the road every day if I could but it’s just too much of a drive for me, so I just go once a week and I make it on Sunday because of the massive reverence of the TLM.

I don't know if you still monitor comments. But if you were a High Church Anglican you should look for an Ordinariate Catholic parish. I'm a cradle Catholic who was very unenthused with the Church during COVID. Ordinariate service is VERY reverant and high Church. Short of Latin Mass I couldn't imagine myself going anywhere else.

Kids who see their parents doing house work (cooking, cleaning etc. become very loving towards their parents right into ;later life until their parents die. They study well, marry good partners etc. So it's one pf the many things to do to raise non rebellious kids- Spend more time at home doing house work.
