My parent bought a new DS19 when they lived in France. They called it a French Cadillac. And because of the money exchange rate in the late 50's they could afford it. When they brought it back to the states the mechanics did not how to service it correctly and ruined the suspension system by using the incorrect oil. Back then Citroen did not have a good dealership presence in the USA. Too bad ! My parents really loved that car!

I’ve had every possible exhaust on my 993s.. BB, cargraphic, Fabspeed.. Fister is as good as it gets. The only thing that will make the “more aggressive” is if you lose the cats which I do not recommend. I personally prefer Stage 2 with no cats. Best of both worlds especially at full throttle. And keep driving that car. Stop saving it for the next guy.

The pedal to the left is the parking brake that, with a flick of a small lever, can act as an emergency brake. The height adjustment was introduced in 1955 after the first 40 (not absolutely sure about the number) cars were produced. Citroën produced 1,3 million ID/DS cars between 1955-75.

Dude you have a beautiful 63 split window Vette . It hurt my ears to hear you whine about the TINKY EXHAUST. But when you cried about a small block when thats the only option made me turn off the volume for my own narration. My dad had a 63 convertible. Silver with red gut . I cried when he sold it in 83 I was 10

Nice serious motors . Love all you show . My preferred 60 ś car is the Mustang . These early Mustangs are works of art . Awesome looking cars . Those days the cars were individual to us ,you knew instantly what it was growling down the road ……..but todays cars sadly look the same ,sound boringly the same . If the car has got the street cred and name behind it ,then it has to have a voice like Johnny Cash thunder . Thanks for showing these beasts of the 60 ś times .

Having owned a ds23 injection 5spd, if your gearbox is feeling a little tricky at standstill then remember this rule: second before first, third before reverse. You don't have to go fully into the gear, more just a good tickle and then it'll slip directly into first or reverse as required.

How to you shift into 5th gear? Having the under body muffler is far better than the noisy side exhausts. The side exhaust reduce engine output below what the under body muffler system produces.
@benjaminsamuelson49016 ай бұрын
Very helpful information. Your car needs a new directional switch. If you ever take those apart, you'll see what I mean so you could fix it with a new switch and no diod to if you wanted to.

But it's not original. Late-model rear view mirror. Replacement factory motors have a "kd" prefix before the engine #, transmissions also. Also of note engine lids and hoods, doors are also numbers matching as are the wheel rims. Me = Porsche factory mechanic (Germany) and stateside Porsche dealership mech.40 years + exp. Owned 51 - 356's in my day. 51 coupe, 56 speedster's couple 4 cams,63 "Damen" coupe + others.

Love it! Almost bought a 70 Boss 429, but the Ford dealer wouldn't give me a reasonable trade in on my 69 Plymouth Roadrunner Hardtop, with a 383. In 1968 my first Mustang was a 65 GT Fastback, with a 289 4Bll, manual trans. I put one of those 429 hood scoops on it,, and made it ram air, as well as some other mods. The underclassman I sold it to, really made a "dragstrip" car out of it, wheelie bars & all, then totaled it doing what your doing, flooring it on a dirt/gravel road! Fish-tailed, put it in a ditch, and bent it like a "V"! Don't do that to that rare Boss 429!

If choke is working correctly , step on gas pedal three times , and crank it should like it did , do not touch pedal “ remeber choke has to be working corecly “if it does stall start cranking engine and apply pedal , no more than half a step , if tuned correctly it will start .by now you have stepped down the choke from high idle so keep feathering pedal slightly to keep running , sounds absolutely amazing , this car is not to be babied and must be driven with a lot known input !!
