this is all so corporate it's really hard to even memorize how to use these formulas if you're trying to get into the corporate world. creating stuff out of thin air and manipulating more thin air. really hard to memorize. it's all made up and trivial

Hi, quick Q- The % segments in 90M households are exceeding 90M - 50%+50%+40%+10%, I don't understand the logic here. Shouldn't they add up to 90M (100%)? Can you please clarify?

Hey, it can be assumed that one houshold has a dog and a cat. So the sum doesn't have to be 100%

Hi! Great video! To solve this market sizing I started by directly "eliminating" the residents of NY who did not consume coffee and then segmented those who did, similarly as you did. So basically I segmented 75% of NY population into 25% who drink 1 coffee, 50% who drink 2 and 25% who drink 4. I used this approach based on your pet food example. How does it compare to the approach you used in this video?

Thanks for the comment and kind words! This is a very similar methodology to how I approached the problem, I started with eliminating those under 18 to only focus on adults, then segmented into three distinct customer segments based on coffee consumption (no coffee, 1-2 cups per day, 4+ cups per day). As with any market size reasonable minds can certainly differ on the structure and assumptions and in retrospect adding a middle tier of coffee drinkers is likely helpful to further refine this estimate. Thanks for your thoughts, it's unfortunate to see layoffs but consulting firms typically need to adjust their cost profile to respond to the volume of incoming business. My assumption is the slowdown in the macro-economic environment and increasing cost of capital has been the primary driver of layoffs, not necessarily a fundamental flaw in their business model.

This was just intended to illustrate how you could fill in the table once you have informed individuals, apologies if that wasn't clear in the video! The purpose was to demonstrate how the conditional formatting would easily update to reflect the status in your tracker, not that there were specific employees that we had informed.

If panes are frozen you can simply scroll between them, but if you've split different panes I believe F6 will allow you to jump between them

SUMPRODUCT can be so much better than writing out formulas manually when used correctly.

Definitely agree, it simplifies the process and reduces the chance for error when writing formulas. The only downside is your data needs to be structured in similar arrays but I've found it's often worthwhile to go through the process.
