The music Larry Campbell made with Bob Dylan, Charlie Sexton, Donnie Herron, Tony Gagne and Winston Watson, et al, plus GE Smith ranks among my favorites in a lifetime of seeing the greatest Singer/songwriter composer and arranger ever.

Even when he was younger, Jack's expressions always seemed odd to me, in ways I can't exactly describe. The Fur Peace Ranch CoVid series raised my appreciation of both Jorma and Jack as consummate musicians, with interesting collections of instruments. It also filled in confusion from way back over the Airplane, Starship, Electric Tuna, and a few other incantations, as well as Kantner's meaning about Evil Incarnate, aka his ex-wife, a talented and weird Silver Spoon holder.

Larry does seem like the antithesis of a rock star - down to earth, humble but as hot a player as can be.....

i ran into Jack Casady and friends on the street in Cincinnati before a KBC show in 85. he graciously gave me his autograph, chatted briefly and was the nicest rocker I ever met.

Jack's wonderful rolling bass was one of the best sounds to come out of the psychedelic era twinned with Jorma's spiraling guitar. Saw them at the Roundhouse in London with Glenn McKay's Headlights all night concert with The Doors. An unforgettable night .Also at a free concert in Parliament Hill Fields in the rain. I have the photos? Precious memories.

That’s how I learned to in the mid ‘60’s. I wore those damn records out playing them over and over. Learned everything by ear those first few years. Wouldn’t have changed a thing.

One thang. I never have known what this song is about, but I like it. I remember getting a Grateful Dead 45 record for buying a box of chicken way back. Truckin. I liked the song. This vid was posted 2 yrs. ago. That might be when it was maded. The Hot Tuna guys hopefully are still around. I know their names. Have played in other good bands. Look it up.

This is better than Grateful Dead rendition. So much more heart and passion. I think Jerry existed to influence other musicians and performers to carry on hi legacy and build upon it for future generations. Thank you for this. her voice is soooo full of soul.

I love that you love this version of a classic Hunter/Garcia tune! Ms. Williams and the guys are great. Also, Jerry's legacy is growing by the day as you point out. I don't know that I would go as far as your conclusions about this version being better than the Dead's, especially given the number of times the band played it, to say nothing of the JGB versions. However, what a great topic for endless discussion and repeated listening to the many versions! Thanks It Was the Music for posting this.
