Thank you for this lesson. Most pilots take it easy at cruise while this is a necessary contingency to think through and brief. The aero plane should level off at the gross altitude and weight depicted in the drift down table. The net level off pressure altitude must clear all en-route obstacles by at least 1000 ft.

Hi Captain! Thank you for your videos. I am looking for the answer about the compass heading once you start the APU. Here it’s my answer, let me know if I am wrong. Due to the electromagnetic interferences generated by the APU, the startup of the APU involves changes in the plane electrical system. Once APU is running normally the CH indications will be stabilised.

Hey Captain. I am still confused. If we takeoff ELAC 2 out, and we have blue hydraulic failure wouldn't the elevator still be controlled by the SEC 2 through the green and yellow hydraulic systems?

You cannot dispatch an ELAC 2 inop simply because there is a contingency. What if SEC fails when airborne?

It depends how much battery power is left. Starting the APU will drain the battery significantly.

If blue fail is due to low level or no fluid the RAT will not power blue+emergency generator. If emergency elec config you'll be on battery power.

If you are visual, you can look out at the aiming point and glance at the FDs. Constant scanning is key.

PTU is turned off because it’s a tank (low pressure, low lvl, temp hi) issue rather than a pump issue…

What happens if ELAC 1 is inop and during flight you get dc bus 2 fault? The airplane should be in alternate law till manual gear extension then go to normal law (elac 2 recovers at ldg gear extension). Is this correct?

It stands for Operations Engineering Bulletin. It serves as a temporary procedure for pilots. Pilots apply the procedure until a more permanent solution is implemented.

Hello captain, how would the PTU work after switching off the engine master switch of 1 engine ? In FCOM its mentioned PTU will work when the differential pressure is more than 500 psi between Y&G , and both engine master switch should be off or both should be on

PTU should still work as long as there are still hydraulic fluids and pressure left.
