Solid build, I always feel like my bodies need more trimming too 😂. 40° weather is tough for crawling for sure, but you do good job for the conditions. I wonder if you’ve ever tested that rig without the rear brass wheel weights and if it performed better or worse?

it works great with brass front and rear, no brass on rear made it great for vertical climbing but not so good on side hill and decent.

Can one buy a 270 degree servo for these trucks even if we don’t use it all?

any servo should work, you just have to adjust your end travel so you don't bind or break things. If your radio does not have adjustments then make sure you have some type of bump stop.

Another solution is to adjust the steering servo endpoints using the TQI transmitter, it’s pretty painless to so using their ‘programming tree’ and you lose no steering angle, just the bump steer (and strain on the servo). 👍
@leesrcs2 ай бұрын
yes thats true, but my issue was the panhard bar, limiting the servo would remedy that but I would also loose a lot of steering angle. It was just a quick fix option, its completely changed now 😆

Hey Lee, I enjoy your vids! No hype, honest opinion and excellent ingenuity to balance performance against cost. I always get inspired to try something! Sorry if I missed it but did you end up using oil in the shocks? If so, what type/weight? I remember you commented that some peeps run without oil in those shocks. I bought the same shocks and want to duplicate your spring/oil setup. Thanks! Chano
@leesrcs5 ай бұрын
Thanks so much. I only used a drop of oil to lubricate the o-rings, those are not baffle shocks so the oil does nothing else. They work off internal spring pressure only. If I were to build another one I would use better shocks that have a working dampening system like the traxxas ones I use on the LCG's.
@chanorando5 ай бұрын
@leesrcs Thanks for the response and info! I will try the ones in the build, and if not happy, I'll return. Are the Traxxas big bore your current pick for best bang for buck damped shock? I’m trying to find a motor that will give me speed to launch but not as slow as a crawler do you know what my options are I’m confused
@leesrcs6 ай бұрын
well, 3 things to look at, 1st is the (T) rating on a brushed motor, 12T, 27T etc, generally the higher turn rating (T) the faster it is., 2nd is KV, KV is basically the same as RPM, so higher RPM higher speed, 3rd is battery, 3s is going to provide more power and punch than 2s. mHope that helps
