You have to force it pretty hard to get that result. Mines over a year with use almost daily use and works good as new.

Hi, I have a craftsman with Honda 160 GCV motor. My mower dies after one pass in the grass. I winterized it last winter. I drained the gas. I put fresh gas in this spring. I checked the Val fuel valve cap and cleared out the air holes. I replaced the spark plug. I completely overhaul the entire carburetor right down to the injection and cleaned it with a bread wire. I have tried using starter fluid. I have adjusted the choke.finally I bought a new carburetor set and installed that. And she still dies. What do you recommend next any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m a newbie and working my way through this as I go.

Interesting, it sounds like an airflow issue. Does your engine have this thermal wax coupling? I wonder if it’s not adjust the carb to change the airflow.

If you use a Hudson-type pump sprayer, use 4 oz of baby shampoo per 1 gallon of water. After spraying the lawn, let it sit for about 30 minutes, then water.

Good to know i dont need to be gentle! I love Salvias! Great for pollinators too. So many beautiful species and varieties. Thanks for this cool pruning tip, im just gonna not be so time consuming with mine and chop away haha.

That's good advice about reading the label. You'll want 98+% a single type for the most even grass; no annual or creeping seed. Don't dump the rinse water on your existing grass as it can stunt it. I leave the bag open at top when doing 4 lbs or less. Then you can do a thorough pre-rinse before emersing and when changing water. It all sunk to the bottom of the pail without weighing it down. That way there weren't any dry clumps in the middle and I got all the brown poisons off all the seed. My seed showed sprouts in 4 days and greened up all the dead area (about 1/3 of the lawn) 6 days after spreading over a scalped and dethatched lawn.
@HomegrownHowTo10 күн бұрын
Nice! Good information. I’ll have to try that out. Appreciate you watching.
@mikep4908 күн бұрын
@@HomegrownHowTo I'm pretty new to this, also. I don't know how many times I've spread seed in the past to have 90% die off despite watering multiple times a day. I dump my waste water on my bark-o-mulch; maybe fewer weed sprouts there afterwards. I also hold back a little grass seed for a second application. I sometimes have a couple small spots and/or edges where I didn't apply enough seed.

At first I was like great there drought tolerant, I'll let mother nature water them, then at the end he says just give them an inch a week, bro all my shrubbery gets an inch a week. So these salivas are no different, they need the standard inch per week, mine flatten down in the summer with heavy down pours
@HomegrownHowTo11 күн бұрын
Too much water causes them to flatten out. If you get rain where you’re at, you probably don’t need to water these at all once established. I’m in the desert, we get like 2” of rain from May-August.

@HomegrownHowTo12 күн бұрын
You’ve never seen grass blades tear from dull blades? Makes the lawn look like crap. Blades will dull quick if mowing multiple lawns a day. If you’re running a professional lawn mowing company you should definitely sharpen religiously. For a homeowner mowing 1x/ week once a year would probably suffice.

@HomegrownHowTo14 күн бұрын
Hi Jon! Stoked you found it as well. My current favorite seed is the RPR from Barenbrug. But I’d wait until early fall to seed. Too hot right now (generally speaking). Irrigation repair is super simple, so I’d recommend doing it yourself. Especially if it’s just heads. You can definitely find all the info you need here on the tube. There is a Sprinkler Supply in Riverton. Those guys are super helpful and can make sure you get what you need.

OK, maybe a dumb question, but with the continual water feed into the jug how do you know how long you need to water your lawn to use up the soap that you put into the jug thank you… in my situation. I have about 1 to 2000 ft.² in the front yard. I need to hit certain spots.
@HomegrownHowTo12 күн бұрын
Good question. The bottles will usually tell you how long you should water a 1k sqft area. But with the soap if your spot treated some hydrophobic areas you want the area to get decently sudsy. I’ll hit one spot for about 30+seconds when spot treating.

My seed said 7-14 days, 4.5 days to sprout @ 65 to 70 degrees. I stretched the bag over the bucket, so a rock wasn't needed. Organic fertilizer is processed sewage; wear gloves? Drain well before mixing; too wet to spread but an hour in the wheelbarrow in the sun and I could proceed.
