Thanks for the video, great summary and video coverage of the museum which is definitely about the man himself more than his creations. I enjoy how it inspires creativity and ways to create. If you are looking to interact with the characters and stories of Roald Dahl I recommend The Roald Dahl Children's Galley in Aylesbury also in Buckinghamshire.

Oh wow. It still blows our minds that people on the other side of the planet are watching our little videos! Yes, it was quite a unique experience to see something of that scale, so early on. Most big gardens in UK are hundreds of years old. That being said, we'll have to go back one day and see it when it's more established. What made you watch the video, being so far away? Matt and Issy

We were very happy with the accommodation. It was clean and tidy. It was spacious enough for the 7 of us. Great as a two storey. Beds comfortable. Happy with the en suites. Balconies a bonus. Games room was handy to have opening onto the patio/bbq area. Not too bothered about a sauna but is quite nice to try on your holiday. A hot tub would be our preference. All in all a comfortable stay as a home from home. Kitchen facilities very good. Prefer eyelevel ovens so having microwave and oven built in their own unit was ideal. Wine fridge was very useful. We were impressed with the Lodge and enjoyed our stay at Center Parcs

Hi, I was in the design team for this Parc. Designed half the dome area (dry side) the Pancake house, The sports plaza, The bowling Alley (below ground) and the wild water rapid. It was a bit more vicious than it was when opened but its been flattened out a bit now. The level of detail by the Architects Kromhout was incredible. I really enjoyed working on that job. Been there 3 times since with the boys as kids and recently as adults, they still love it and are hard to please. Improved with new features like the raft rides. It does cost a lot but everything is catered for. Just lock up your bikes well as they tend to go missing (happened to us twice). Staff are really naturally friendly. I don't have shares in it btw. Ive been to all of them now. All good. No complaints about anything. Aqua Sana is Ace. Plenty of variety there.

Wow, amazing. Well, you did a good job! We're well on our way to having been to all of them with Sherwood forest booked for next year. Unfortunately, from memory, I don't think you'd be able to. I think the path up the river is only within the land of the house that the National Trust owns. @@ExploreHomeRepeat Thanks for the reply, I remembered them running a few years ago then the building work started causing them to stop, I wondered if they've resumed, I took out a membership before Covid for a year, was hoping it will run again before I take out a new membership.

Looking at articles on Google it seems the run for a while then stop, then the occasionally get them going again and then stop. It may be a maintenance issue or something similar. We love the museum, and its great they're gradually adding more and more buildings to visit.

I can book only 12PM slot. How much time is enough to visit with kids ?
@ExploreHomeRepeatАй бұрын
The car safari takes approximately 2 hours, maybe a little more, then 3 hours at least for the rest of the zoo. 12pm is a little bit of a late start really, buts it's personal choice. Keep in mind that this weekend is a bank holiday, so it will be really busy and that will slow everything down
@mayurbhingradiya7293Ай бұрын
Is it possible to go without book time slot ?
@ExploreHomeRepeatАй бұрын
As far as we're aware you don't HAVE to book in advance, but at busy times it does sell out, and then you wouldn't be allowed to visit unless you'd booked in advance. Whether or not you book in advance, you will always be given a time slot for the car safari. Mother used to treat me to fish and chips in Hobbs chip shop most Saturdays for helping her with the weekly shopping in Dudley. We used to sit in and have our fish and chip lunch. Hobbs was in Hall st and not far from the smiler pub . Ww lived in the priory estate then. Most people were wishing to get out of the poverty in those days but investigation later revealed that all 3 big political parties contrived to keep us in low pay so that businesses could compete in the international market by keeping wages down. It was only later when the labour government subsidised grants for extra training and qualifications so we could get better jobs with more money.

Wow that's a story. It's funny to think that these buildings that are now in the BCLM were everyday places for people in those communities, given they're now tourist attractions! Thanks also much for watching and your interesting comment. Matt and Issy
@dasdasdatics420Ай бұрын
@@ExploreHomeRepeat The low pay was made worse because exporters could claim extra compensation out of the taxes just to keep their prices down. We were effectively subsidising the exporters through taxation and when we had to buy things at a higher cost. A mate of mine used to haul steel coils to Harwich for export to Scandinavia. He used to tell us about those very same coils of steel coming back into the country through Harwich a year later. The scam went on for years and just showed how corrupt the system was. Corrupt companies made so much profit it was worth them shipping thousands of tons abroad and still had money to pay to bring them back years later. As a truck driver I got to experience lots of corruption mainly from council run contract
