I like to make the CPC the longest to ensure that it remains intact after the phase and neutral should the flex be pulled from the outlet.

And when your house burns down and your insurance is null and void , because you are not a qualified electrician then you may think twice about doing it yourself next time

I still don’t understand why the make these latches so wide that makes is more difficult to chisel out around the plate, or they should make the thickness of doors to a standard that will make it easier

Hi, great videos, thank you! One question, on my existing pull cord switch there are only two wires - live and switched live there is no neutral. Do I need to run a separate neutral cable from the pull cord box, having connected that to the extractor fan switch neutral wire and connect to the neutral wire at the light ? Thank you

hello i have just replaced a bathroom fan with one that is pull cord and only and has a live and neutral connection. i have brown , black and grey wires. i have connected the brown to the live and the grey to neutral but the fan does not work ? i am wondering if the fan is faulty . i have not checked the wiring with a circuit tester but it was working before i removed the old fan ! do you have any suggestions please?

Brilliant video, thank you very much. NOTE: Make sure you buy the right mitre box for your coving e.g. if your coving is 127mm but the width of your mitre box is 120mm..... your coving will not fit together, even just a 2mm difference and it still won't fit. It took me a long time to figure out that I was cutting correctly but I was using the wrong nitre box.
