If I ever made a game, my first act upon adding difficulties would be the do the opposit eof hte "do you want to play on easy" thing. Like if someone playing on Easy or Hard manages to beat a boss in my game with no or barely any damage taken, I'd implement a message saying "You're doing really well, you're ready for a harder difficulty."

Alright one more thing, I apologize for being a nag. Consent is inherently deontological because it’s a willingness between x number of parties to engage in a course of action. Consent cannot be consequential because you cannot define an axiom as deontological because it works inherently in outcomes, not boundaries. You would say ‘the axiom is human flourishing’ but if the actions taken to achieve that flourishing are non-consensual between the parties involved, then the axiom would not be deontological. The outcome would still be good, however it’s non-consensual.
@jackdrook9762Ай бұрын
From my understanding, you could never have the deontological rule ‘the rule results in good ends’, because the end cannot be known without taking the action, which could potentially result in violating the rule. Therefore, you cannot establish a rule that functions on a hypothetical desired outcome. Another thing about deontology is that (at least in Kant’s theories), focuses on intent. Basically, a persons intent dictates morality more so than the consequences of the action. If someone intends to do bad but inadvertently results in good, then the person is still bad. However, a consequentialist would say that the person is good.
@jackdrook9762Ай бұрын
Not sure if you really care or not but essentially, Deontology, in simple words, is the moral philosophy that judges an act as moral or good based on the intentions of the individual committing the act and the duties the person is obligated to uphold.

I…. Don’t understand what is going on, I thought deontology was the study of nature of obligation? I’m not particularly read up on deontology, but, choosing to bind oneself to a rule in exchange for a benefit, definitely isn’t deontology. Deontological ethics states that some acts are morally required regardless of consequence. I don’t understand their choice of words here. And, also, the mention of consequences, they mention a rule which provides a benefit if followed, with no apparent mentioned consequences, but he keeps saying “that’s consequences” but, there were no posed consequences. There wasn’t a rule, followed by a consequence of following that rule, or for breaking it, only a statement that there was a benefit. I probably need to hear the whole thing in it’s entirety, then again it IS 1:00 in the morning for me and I’m dead tired, so I might be operating at quarter brain power. And the poses rule, if it has a consequence, is it, morally justified? Is the rule that a worker MUST do something, the consequences of which are that people die, however, the end result is morally required?

@StevenBanaszak3 ай бұрын
I am not purposefully misinterpreting anything. The hypocrisy is demonstrated clearly in this video, even if it doesn't show the entirety of Sterling's video. This is the quote from Naoki Yoshida: "That said, I consider myself a gamer and I have my gamer pride. When playing a game, you always get that part at the beginning where it says, 'Select your difficulty: easy, medium, hard.' And again, I have my pride as a gamer, so I'm never going to choose easy. I'm always going to choose medium or hard. But then when you die that first time it says, 'Do you want to change the difficulty to easy?' I hate that. I have my pride as a gamer and I hate that." Jim makes fun of this in their standard way using funny voices and the like. They then say: "I remember Onimusha 2 doing it to me when I died a lot and I will admit my pride as a gamer was definitely wounded then." This exactly what Yoshida was talking about. They don't want to play on easy mode and they definitely don't want a game telling them that they should. Jim belittles this point and then acknowledges its validity. That makes them a hypocrite.

12:13 You gotta be careful with this Death guy. If he gets wind of your criticism, there is a chance you or his "friend" Celtic Reviews will accuse you of "attacking" him for having an opinion on the internet. He'll make a video in response to you and accuse you of starting drama with him. When the back and forth goes on for a bit from video to video, he'll try to "end" the drama and save face putting out a final video (and this is the part where those who criticized him will usually concede as well) but if you really pay attention, it looks like that formula is his bread and butter because he has a history of consistently following that type of pattern. Pirate Canvas, BigCountry8652, Renegade Operative, and a few other users who have all criticized him before have all been run through this same exact ringer with him. It's a formula he's been known to stick to and it feels kinda orchestrated. You can observe this formula if you look at his profile right now. Not even kidding. He comes across as a rage bait channel and has very vapid takes on many video games and if you do criticise his takes, he'll accuse you of attacking him and using terrible arguments against him even if you have valid points. No matter how misguided or bad his takes are he has a very hard time accepting anyone criticizing his takes outside of "I didn't really like the game but I'm glad you did". If you want to see what I mean, check out literally any of the videos he did where he criticized a game for being trash and just read through the comments.

Now as a soypilled betacucked bitchmaxing gaymer my opinion is irrelevant BUT, I am just not buying the idea that the game developers are secretly plotting to make all of their female characters ugly. I also get the impression that most of the people commenting on these games, like the people commenting on andromeda back in the day, haven't actually played these games. Seems more likely to me that people are jumping on a bandwagon and that hating drives engagement and attracts whiners. The constant claims about "woke" media are ignorant of the duplicitous nature of these large companies which are simply trying to market what they think will bring in shareholders... It's not rocket science, but it does require a little more thinking than these simplified narratives can withstand.

I agree. There are too many counterexamples that we can provide of sexy women in games for this to be a major problem. Just look at Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6.
