Undertale fans when a character who was known for being reckless and not the best thinker, gets mad when you kill his childhood friend who mattered to him very much Also do you think Starlo felt extremely guilty for gifting clover the very gun that ended ceroba’s life

7:31 For why Ceroba does it, think about what LOVE and EXP mean. The more you kill, the less it hurts. Clover is not killing Ceroba for the sake of taking a life in this case, Clover's killing Ceroba as he's giving her what she wants (Ceroba even says thank you before Clover pulls the trigger), and Clover most likely regrets the fact he did so.

i honestly have mixed feelings about ceroba. i wouldn't call her a villain but rather an antagonist, a morally gray character. you know what she's doing is wrong and she knows too, she accepts it. but at the same time, everything she's doing is out of love for her only daughter and out of dispair, since she is at her lowest point in life. her boss theme is full of kanako's leitmotif, showing that she's doing what she's doing mainly because of her (literally, a mother's love). as starlo said, she could've gotten better; and if she decided to commit literally murder against a child was because she was desperate and hopeless, having lost her husband and her daughter... she felt she had lost it all, and made terrible decisions. her depression got the worst of her, and i think that's why it wouldn't be fair if we just killed her; not giving her the chance to get out of the obscure pit she was into. but at the same time, i see why justice is done by killing her; given all her story. but that depends the player's concept of justice.

starlo is my fav character and, even if i dont like how he reacted here is understandable. we saw how intense he is, when he got mad at the feisty four he even rejected ceroba's advice because of his own stubborness; but after that he accepts he is the one who needs to apologize. i want to think the same thing could've happen here; after he cooled down a little he would be willing to be more reasonable with clover and hear him (or them? idk help). plus, he was unconscious during the whole fight, he woke up to clover killing his dearest friend. as he actually understands ceroba and knows her very well, he says to clover that she wasn't a bad person, she just was, basically, depressed (and yes, he's totally oblivious to the fact that ceroba herself asked clover to finish her, but given the fact that she's clearly depressed... she obviously would implore someone to take her life) i mean, if someone i just met killed my childhood besfriend, who has been with me probably for more than 2 decades... i'd be mad as hell, too.

I like the fact that clover lose to asgore, i mean, in all undertale they put asgore like the most danger monster but frisk wins because them got the time power, so them only get back knowing how to dodge and there win. But clover and the rest depends in flowey and we all know that flowey plans is to asgore collect souls to then he stole them, that's why he is too good with us a diference to frisk who he probably know frisk got the Time power thing.

Flowey's plan was to either kill Asgore , or at least get the Souls together in one place for a future swipe at them. Pacifist Clover is too weak to beat Asgore, so Flowey settled for the Souls being together.

for everyone wondering why cereba doesn't give any exp, quote from the wiki "What's EXP? It's an acronym. It stands for "execution points." A way of quantifying the pain you have inflicted on others." Ceroba wants to die, she sees herself as a failure and death as a relief and that means you don't inflict any pain onto her and thus she gives no exp

Random thing, but I love how the story sticks to Clover prioritizing justice over everything. They draw their weapon on Asgore when he shows them that he killed five humans (they literally tremble with rage!), they don’t seem to regret killing Ceroba to the point of being very distressed (although they do express SOME regret), and in the genocide route, their LV literally grows higher out of sheer will when Axis tells them he was programmed to kill a human. I love that they have so much character, honestly; I love them more than any of Undertale/Deltarune’s protagonists.

I love the detail of Clover getting shaken by seeing the five souls. One might imply it's sheer terror, but for me, that were the five children she was searching for when she arrived. It also happens with Genocide Axis, when he told as he was forced to kill one of them. The LOVE, Level of Violence, increased considerably, even when the fight didn't finish. That is because LOVE it's how prone you become to stay aloof from people and your easiness to kill them. So that's why it turns so tense all of a sudden.

Is it not common knowledge that only the combined power of a human and monster soul can pass through the Barrier? Shouldn't Martlet have known Clover would have to kill Asgore?

The reason why you didn't get any exp on killing Ceroba in Pacific route is because you're not violent like you're in the Genocide In Genocide, you chose to be violent and kill every single monsters on the sight, but in Pacific, your soul isn't as violent as in the Genocide

Maybe i'm undergoing the same phase as the genocide fanboys back in 2017, but Undertale Yellow really convinced me to justify a geno run where I never felt bad at all. Clover had to die in both pacifist and neutral; the former being a disappointing sacrifice as you cannot do anything about it, and the latter being just horrifying throughout. Vengeance is the only way out for Clover, and wanting Clover to live is the sole reason why I do it.

I think something interesting to think about is how hypocritical Starlo is with his dialogue after the battle. He comments saying people 'only see what others have done, not the "why"' which is ironic since he's doing the exact same to Clover. He only sees that Clover killed Ceroba, but never gave them a chance to explain she _wanted_ it and actually asked Clover to do it. I don't think it necessarily justifies killing her despite all she's done, but it is interesting that Starlo criticizes the player for the exact same thing he's doing while telling them off. I think this also ties into why you don't earn exp too, which actually made me think of that random encounter in Red Dead where you earn honour for putting the dying guy out of his misery yet loose it if you walk away and let him die naturally. Even though walking away seems like the right thing to do, you're more justified by killing them because they'd just die slower in pain anyway, and I think that's the messge the UT Yellow team wanted to tell with Ceroba since while she might still find happiness living, she still has the pain and grief of losing her husband and essentially putting her daughter in a coma. (I don't think it's really confirmed Kanako died despite her lying although I could be wrong on that.)

At first when I was fighting with her, I said "maybe I'll forgive her, just maybe" but when I saw that she used her daughter as an experiment, in addition to the fact that at that very moment she was trying to kill Clover for her convenience, I started to analyze the situation and I realized that true justice was to kill her.
