Smokers in my opinion are rare and produce few commercial deposits, Japan being an exception. Most of the commercial deposits I have seen (and non-commercial) are acid volcanics being squeezed through some iron rich rock like Dolerite. The most spectacular, and I really mean spectacular deposits are when Quartz, Dolerite and Carbonaceous Shale interact. You would find it hard to understand what I have seen/done. Greywacke is now considered to be the result of an underwater "avalanche" which predates the Gold mineralization but really helps the gold to concentrate. Shale contact. Golden Crown Mine, Western Australia. Greywacke. Comet Mine via Cue Western Australia and the Nullagine to 20Mile sandy creek, Pilbara Western Australia.

Most of it came from space, easier explanation., Your view would have let the middle age alchemists " make" gold. I'm sure all the goldmining rushes by people with no education understood this and could recite all those great big words and knew the differences of alloy chemistry. Then you have all the civilizations wipe out each other for the greed of gold, but I digress that's not part of the geology.

Mormons did to the Utes in what is now called 'Provo Canyon' that you described happening to the Natives there near Coloma. Mormons also were up north in Willamette Valley cutting wood for building throughout the western U.S. after 1847. It's not clear at alllll to me that Mormons actually got along with the Natives -- sounds to me like they sent an early crew to get info about who and what was going on with the Natives and had back-up crews come from Oregon to help them move Natives off their own land. [That was exactly what Mormons were doing in Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Montana, and southern Alberta during the same time.]

Geology is just one attempt to explain earth's and our human history. A recently created theory bordering on modern mythology. Much of it makes zero logical sense even breaking its own rules. The Grand Canyon for example provides extensive evidence that contradict geological rules.

Terrific video. Probably a lot of gold around the “black smokers” on the sea floor, but hard to recover.

I'd heard that gold forms in hydrothermal vents going through fractured quartz with the help of bacteria, therefore we get 'veins' of gold deposits

I lived in Dahlonega, GA for about 13 yrs until just recently. It's considered to be the site of the US's first gold rush around the 1830's. Auraria was the the name of the community that sprang up around the major gold mines,.(Auraria being derived from the Latin for gold.) There was enough gold to justify having its own US mint until the start of the Civil War. It's my understanding that miners from this area, on their way to the CA gold fields, discovered gold at the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte river, which they named Auraria, which eventually became Denver.

This was very interesting! Thank you for making this video. I might add that the story of gold would be incomplete without at least an honourable mention of the stars that died in the actual making of the gold in the first place.

Brilliant lecture on the suspension of disbelief. Personally, I can easily understand and feel what people have experienced and been exposed to. Where my suspension of disbelief breaks is the reenacting of wars from different times. It's almost only 50 to 70-year-old grey-bearded men with fat bellies, when it should be 15 to 20-year-old boys and pure young men. I am very impressed by your (Marshall Gold Discovery SHP) small lectures which I have only now discovered and devour with joy. Once again thank you❤🤟👍

The Original state seal of California from 1510 with Queen Calafia who was indigenous need to be put back California is named after her.

Not true. There's no historic evidence to support those claims. I did my senior thesis and looked into those claims and they are not backed by any evidence. I found what the earlier seals looked like and Calafía was never on them.
@historywatchdog2923
@historywatchdog2923 17 күн бұрын
No, California's first governmental seal was created by the Spaniards in 1769, followed by the Mexican seal in 1827 after the Mexican Revolution, and finally the Great Seal with Minerva in 1849 at the Constitutional Convention. Never at any point did the Great Seal or its predecessors depict Queen Calafia.

If you're talking about the Great Seal supposedly depicting Queen Calafia at one point before Minerva, then that's incorrect. I did my senior thesis on the seal and even found its predecessors. They never depicted Calafia on them. So if you're alleging Calafia was replaced with Minerva, that is incorrect.
