Awesome hunt an great effort well done can be the parallax or sometimes if you shoot off hard ground with a bi pod the gun can jump a tad
@huntingforadventure997723 минут бұрын
enjoyed it! thanks BRB and tonto
@nzlongrangerСағат бұрын
Setting parallax really close and shooting far AND you have the worst possible scope shadow. For instance, if you have parallax set for 100 yards, and shoot at 200 yards. The absolute MOST you can miss is 25mm (1.1 inch) with a 50mm objective scope. At 300 yards the most you can miss is about 2.2 inches, and at 400 the most you can miss is about 3.3 inches. The pattern continues until at 1000 it is 10 inches. But, remember, you have to literally be looking through the tiniest sliver with your eye looking through the lens as far from the center as you can. If you are able to consistently get your eye centered in your scope with minimal scope shadow, parallax won't make you miss.

Awesome video again mate, My parallax dial on my VX5HD is easily turned when I carry it…. Either by the firearm in my left hand or my thigh in my right hand. I have emailed Leupold about it to see if there was a fix alas there is not. Interestingly a mates one exactly the same is much firmer and doesn’t dial by itself. Oh Happy birthday by the way 🍺 🎂

Don’t feel bad Glenn, I haven’t seen many fat deer in kawekas, and usually see a good amount of deer, when we would fly in with Chris we would shoot basically anything we saw. Can’t say we didn’t go and recover deer, but we definitely located and left them on the hill because they were in such bad condition. I’m definitely going to do more shooting and walking away in the future because you are right, DOC will just get in there with green rain. I see a lot on KZfaq of guys hunting way in the middle of nowhere shooting big stags and saying they have all the boned out meat in there packs, sorry, but I call bullshit on those guys, it’s just not realistic. Good on you for being honest about it. I miss flying in with Chris, need to get my boots on and do it the hard way like you 2!

@darrellwong4097 My theory is, that's their home all year around and they poke out on nice days, hate the cold blowing winds. Otherwise they park up in the scrub or bush and just survive! Good luck with the shoulder, you will be back out before you know it

@warwickgibbs6303 If set up properly behind the gun and it's a nice still day (not a howling wind) Then confidant out to 500 yards with the 308. But can't stress enough, if it's windy we would be wasting our time
