It says on the ibs smart website that this test for post-infectious ibs is only for ibs-d sufferers, not ibs-c. So if you have ibs-c you cannot have post-infection?

This presentation was incredibly basic. Most of the content is at this point common knowledge, and coming from the source at the forefront of future treatment its quite sad that not much solution is presented. Low fod map shouldn’t be a long term diet, it will cause deficiencies in some people.

I must be rare because my Tri-Smart test came back as high H2 and high CH4.H2S was normal. I've battled with Emergency Diarea for 15 years(soon after having two cases of food poisoning about two months apart from the same resturant). According to this I should not have diarea with high CH4, but i'm just slowly starting to figure out what is going on. Great work to you and your team Dr. Pimental!! Please keep going to develope a cure for this dibilitating condition. I'm only 45 and this keeps me from sooo much in life because I always have to be close to a bathroom:(

I watched a video by a school teacher who suffers from bile acid malabsorption which causes uncontrollable diarrhea. She discovered eating a quarter cup of nuts at bedtime and again first thing on am stopped the diarrhea. A comment from a man who researched nuts found that pecans have a good fiber content that also stops the diarrhea. I have had this problem since July 2023 also. I decided eating pecans sounded harmless so I have followed his suggestion of 1 half pecan per 10 pounds body weight at bedtime and in am. It has stopped the diarrhea and most of the abdominal pain. I have adjusted the number down to 8 halves for my 126 pounds, am just experimenting with different dosing. Maybe this will help you as well.

This info has to get out to more doctors and especially gastroenterologists!!! My own MD told me that about 50% of the gastroenterologists she works with don’t even acknowledge SIBO!!! As a former SIBO patient and current SIBO advocate, this infuriates me. Sooooo many folks are suffering with SIBO and can’t even get a proper diagnosis or appropriate treatment. I’m on a mission to educate patients and practitioners but so much more needs to be done at a much higher level.

The biopsychosocial model is part of why IBS has been stigmatized for so many years. It's crucial to get rid of it and educate the public that IBS is an organic disease with real causes like i.e. food poisoning et cetera.

I'll keep screaming from the rooftops.. Every single person complaining about gut issues after c-19 need to be tested for APS, or Anti-Phospholipid-Syndrome -Lupus Anticoagulant.. IT'S THE SAME ANTIBODIES AS C-19 and every single one of covid 19 symptoms are the exact symptoms of APS, I'VE HAD APS FOR TWELVE YEARS AND I'VE HAD KIDNEY FAILURE AND DVT..
