A good interviewer lets the interviewed speak in their personal natural rhythm, not try to fill the silence in a natural conversational pause _immediately._ You end up derailing every single answer that way. TV interviewers can be the worst in this regard. (not that this is SO bad, but it's definitely obvious here)

I thought this was an excellent interviewing style. Getting on with MES is an achievement in itself.

The Otherwise - The Screenplay for a Horror Film That Never Was.....
@JJONNYREPP11 ай бұрын
Uaneen Fitzsimons interviews Mark E. Smith 11.7.23 1537pm i would like to see the whole interview. i am only here due to my wishing to bone up on, discuss the alleged secret horror movie screenplay the former members of the fall need to make - allegedly they have published this screen play.. is it worth indulging with or is it the usual convoluted smarm pap we have come to expect...? i mean, stood at one's back door peering thru a crack in the door at the veg plot is all good and well... but it doesn't count as an alternative to enjoying someone chat about stuff they enjoy or are passionate about.
@bludgeoncorpinc.676811 ай бұрын
I'd like to see the entire interview also. But ss you know, broadcasters ( in this case it's the Irish National TV station RTE) always edit interviews before airing. Its possible the unedited interview still exists in the RTE archives, but I wouldn't bet on it.

@@bludgeoncorpinc.6768 1424pm 12.7.23 i dont see why an unexpurgated m.e.s interview with some irate lady (she seemed angry for some reason...) shouldn't exist. no doubt people with their lack of foresight in such matters - pop cultural archives surely need preserving... but the people in the know allus think nothing of such stuff ............. though pop culture isn't as throwaway as you'd imagine... those people didn't think it was of relevance. well, if the pogues can't get on with an irritable mr g burn then there's not much hope for the rest of music land...

It's one thing to lie the way Marion Jones did (not that it excuses it) where she never played a race card and atoned for her mistakes. She never threatened any of her competitors, paid her debt to society, and makes kids aware of right and wrong. It's quite another to play the Cancer card, be a selfish ass, and be guilty of witness intimidation like Lance. LiveStrong, more like LieStrong.

LANCE: "Oprah … I’m telling you, the playing field was level. Strong Fact/Conviction 100 out of 100: This is demonstrably false, for two reasons. One, Armstrong was a hyper-responder to the red cell booster, EPO. That’s because his natural hematocrit ratio was a low level for a pro cyclist, ranging from 38 to 41. The ratio that set off alarms of suspicion in tests (when Armstrong won his 7 Tours) was 50. Armstrong therefore had more room for artificial red blood cell improvement than most cyclists. Two, Armstrong paid the most money (provably $1 million and more likely $5 million during his 7 Tour wins) for exclusive services of the sport’s top blood doping doctor, Italy’s Michele Ferrari, who has been banned from cycling and faces criminal charges in Italy.
