I don't think GF lenses are more expensive... they are roughly similar in price to the likes of Canon L or Sony GM lenses. I actually bought into this system because (at the time with some Fuji cash backs) it was cheaper to buy than any of the full frame high MP equivalents (and high end lenses from those systems)

The D850 was my dream camera, it is still s dream for landscape but in terms of video things have moved on massively

If the Z 50 is the only camera that you had, would you use it to do paid work, is it good enough?

I ended up with a GFX camera as well the 50s ii the reason I went for the 50 was that I just felt that was enough megapixels for landscape photography and not blowing out the files and I really love the camera and lenses. They are amazing thanks for your video. I'm a believer in the hyper focal method and you can still do that with GFX. I've been shooting with hyperfocal at F18 getting really sharp images there's a tiny little bit of fall off right on the horizon but honestly no one looks at that in my opinion. If you want to pixel peep on a mountain bright in the background that's not a feature of the photo that's fine but honestly the firs, 7/8 of the photo is Pin sharp. I will be investing in the GFX100S ii. I don't know if you ended up with the 20 to 35 but it is an amazing lens

How do you find the aspect ratio of 4:3? Ive read somewhere that there is a way to shoot 3:2 aspect ratio but it will be at 90mpix.. is that correct?

I used z9s in the highlands , i wasnt impressed with z lenses , after getting home i used my 14-24 and it was clear the z lenses are being pushed hard on people , on youtube , while in realtime the pro g ed (f mount) lenses are still streets ahead the new 24-70 fl vr, and 70-200 fl.ed vr are front runners even in 2024 . I gave the z9's back and bought another d850 with both new lenses in 2024 , z cameras arent for everyone , iv done cameras for 40 years , mirrorless seems very camcorderish ,

What a powerful review. Indeed you are a professional "reviewee" I really like when you show every segment captured using nikon z50 and segments not captured using nikon z50. It makes yours better than all. That has made me to press thumb up and subscribed to your channell. ❤❤❤

Nice. You never mention depth of field control. Did you have to stack images for focus as well? I can't even take a landscape in wide angle portrait orientation and have it all in focus on my phone.

Every piece of photographic equipment I’ve owned over a decade has been a sort of necessity. A means to an end. But my recent purchase of the GFX 100s feels absolutely different. The aspect ratios, the film simulations, the way you manipulate exposure. It all feels like a call to experiment, to explore. Three days in and I adore it.

Totally agree with how amazing the walk to the falls are. My husband couldn't walk all the way down so he sat at the top of the hill and literally talked to the trees. He said he'd never seen such beauty in trees before. The Myrtles were beautiful and I used to say hello to them. The drive out was quite spectacular too. Ps I watch all your videos on Tassie, thank you they were so helpful

Been doing hand held long before i even could afford a decent tripod . Anyways I guess you must think there is some , holding a camera and takin a pic is a krypton factor challenge to them . When you can easily use a fence post , a boulder . improvise adapt overcome ..

Hi Andrew..just came across your video on Iceland. Loved your information. My trip sounds similar to yours. We are planning on going to the UK and Iceland was always on my bucket list so are adding that on and concentrating on the west and south west areas. Thanks again for all your information 😊

If there is any crown land in these shots, Parks and Wildlife Tasmania will Bushwack you by reviewing your film and fine you. Bushwack in the American vernacular of the word. Just call them sneaky bastards.

tbh - more than half of the people that criticized my choice of GFX, are coming from an angle of gear envy… they’re stuck on full frame or less. they are however wooed by the post editing, where ahowing them the recoverable shadows on the GFX really shines

Would you still recommend this camera or would you buy the gopro hero 12 (that's coming soon). I'm looking for a all in one small camera that can go into the water for my vacation videos (short clips edited together). It should go in sea water too.
