This game tried way too hard to be wacky as Earthbound and so think it failed to understand the charm that game really had with its more comically absurd moments and major plot twist. Trying to be a “modern earthbound”… it just kinda fell flat imo

Notice how Frankton is just this wacky video game world, and Alex's house is literally the set of Full House (he literally admits he was raised on television). There is not even a grocery store there. You have to revert the game to an older state to reach the Old Frankton ending and go to the "real" world, just so Alex can buy some damn groceries.

People who say Alex is only unlikable for being annoying dont realize what's happening at this point in the story. Vella REALLY doesn't want the LP found, as it reminds her of her traumatic past. But Alex insists on prying, and for what? Just to bring her on his wacky adventures? He has no consideration for others, and is very ignorant throughout the story.

One of the weaker tracks. It's not technically bad, but feels like phoned-in soundfont abuse.

I find it so odd how for some reason people refuse to understand that alex wasn't SUPPOSED to improve. He doesn't just not confront his issues, he doesn't know what they are. He's a self-obsessed dick living in a fantasy land where he'd rather accept the world ended than come to terms with the fact he pushes others away.
