If you'll use one of those flat smooth bottom round sponges on the wooden dowel brush your dabbing technique with baking soda and paint would work so much better .

I loved your duo sign of Fall and Christmas bucket list. I would add an embellishment on your sign on Christmas side using your same buffalo red and black checks tree fabric. Cut out a small tree in fabric and glue to empty top! You have great ideas! I subscribed today!

And the one that you did in shape of an outdoor swing with the flower pot sitting on the seat! And I have a box full of the little ferry lites…use them a lot at Christmas time! You can use the garden plant hanger with the chain and put two hooks on the seat as well , then paint the hooks black. This will make it more realistic

To make your shovel look rusty. Put a little wet paint. Sprinkle on tiny bit on edge of shovel in couple spots
