A world can be mostly empty, but what is in it needs to be interesting. The Gothic line of games (including Elex) are a good example of this. A bad example would be any Ubisoft game this past decade.

This is such a good video, and your theory between the design of the game and the popularity of the aggressive streamer playstyle is true and very interesting. What is hilarious about all of it though is that this could have been fixed by allowing players to choose what maps to queue for; PUBG rarely, if not ever, offered this option.

In my experience with great video games, Halo should not be a legendary series. The idea of Master Chief doesn’t make a good concept for a game like Halo

I fell in love with this game when I got to Greenpath for the first time. The brilliant, lush green everywhere after wandering around in cold, dark caverns was just so beautiful. The creatures in this zone don't really seem like enemies and you can pretty much leave them be if you decide to. The music was also what hooked me on this game. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to the piano cover of Greenpath, but its just so calming and relaxing, while also personifying the richness of life in the area. I just can't get enough of all the fantastic music in this game. Cristopher Larkin outdid himself with this beautful soundtrack.

Yall are fucking weird nostalgia worshipers lmao. Fucking creaming over the glory days of PUBG when you went house to house, no gun, no meds, and no armor. "In PUBG's prime", you all would say this games dogshit and you still do... with PUBG then. PUBG now. And every game you play now AND all yall have contributed to the shitty state of games for this exact reason. This games too slooow. Then, this games too sweaty, its meant to be slooooow! So heres Krafton (whos not perfect by ANY means) the community says hey we want less RNG loot, Krafton fills the map with loot so you can anywhere and play any style you want. Then people say its a running simulator, so now heres hard spawn cars and a car on EVERY road and town... But it got worse though apparently. Then yall who havent played in 7 years join and get put in bot lobbies for your first 5ish matches (because krafton knows you cant play normals without getting dogged) you cry about bots then face real players and scream "its all cheaters and bots , dead came lel" if you dont like the game then thats valid but dont bitch and moan because you come back already hating it, getting shit on then shitting on people for playing a game they enjoy. If you want to play a game thats popular then go be a sheep 🐑

The core of pubg is always battle royale. It's about surviving to the last second, even meaning shrinking away from certain fights. That's why rotation strats should be equally important as skills with a gun, or even more important than that. But maybe as players get more and more skillful at shooting, their interest shifted from surviving to simply having a good fight(to the death). The heavy death penalty means little cause their average looting time is nothing compared to combating time. Could be when someone learns about how to rotate the circles and how to be a good igl, he shall find a new kind of joy other than shooting to savour.

I was going to watch this, but 48 seconds in you cite the manga as the source material. Durarara is a novel series. Maybe you said interesting things in this; I’ll never know. You have a lot more to learn about this story before you make a video about it.

I’m surprised even as someone who has primarily been playing on PlayStation since 2011 that they weren’t also included in the pride section. I completely agree with everything that is included in this video but Sony definitely shouldn’t be left out of this topic either especially with how badly they’ve been with changes to PlayStation plus over the last couple years (obviously I am aware this video is too old to account for that now though).

The worst example of a company sabotaging their own game at its peak was World of Warcraft/Blizzard, with the first Burning Crusade expansion. Blizzard deliberately had all of their servers update (no choice for the players to go to the Burning Crusade expansion on their own terms) and the way they implemented it was to completely disincentivize people from staying in the original end-game content in favor of getting to Outland. Those original end-game areas and dungeons immediately became ghost towns.

I like the idea of open worlds because to me it feels organic in a way, especially if lived in, is also a reason why I am already with invisible walls in like Elder scrolls or Fallout because sure there are no invisible walls in real life, but lets be real, do you think Post apoc DC will look sense if the entire map is surrounded by sheer walls and the only way in are by flight, but you get NPCs that said "yes we hiked here from out west", it wouldn't make too much sense. However an open world can at best be empty, so an example, people made a comparison between red dead redemption 2 and Zelda, breath of the wild, both are open but RDR2 may look great, yet, its world feels meh, when I played, I just wanted to fast travel through it. BOTW give me an option to fast travel yet sometimes I want to watch the scenery go by, and I think I know why, for one, RDR2, you are presented a lot from a simple road, if I go off the road, I may find something, but that something will come down to "see it once, and that is it", but BOTW, there are several things that are hidden, you are presented something great and may find something if you dig.

An ending that just exist is overall disappointing, only if expectations are built. Now a mundane ending can work just that, Firewatch doesn't look like the sort of game that give an impression with a mundane ending, in fact, at best its lack luster.

Ahh the things I'd do to go back to when this was released. Cant believe its been 17 years since this masterpiece came out, I was a little 7 year old gremlin living life without a care in the world. Crazy how fast the years go by. I hope everyone that sees this vid and by some crazy chance sees this comment knows that we only live one life. Please live it to the fullest and cherish the small things in life. We're all in this together and I'm so happy I get to walk this Earth and live my life beside all of you wonderful individuals 🩷

For me, the reason why I remember playing this game is how long it took me to finish the game. Starting playing the game at daycare because I took a liking to some of the video games she had and of course the original Mario Bros game on Gameboy, another person there who I don't know the relationship to the daycare lady suggested this game called Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii and I was hooked. At one point I stopped going to daycare and didn't play games much because I got old of Super Mario World on SNES ( that was the only game I liked that my Dad had for it ) then some cousins gifted my sister and I a Wii, then a spark to search for that game started. A year later I was at a friends house and noticed they also had a Wii and that game, Super Mario Galaxy. I played it every chance I got, and was obsessed. Got to the final level and the game crashed, thought it was because of how long I had been playing with the Wii on. But no, turns out the games disk was scratched in just the right way to never load the final level, and only that level. Years later I had completely forgotten about the game. One day after I can't remember why I had some money people gifted me, my Dad took me to Walmart to allow me to look around for ideas. As I was scoping around I laid my eyes upon a brand new unopened copy of Super Mario Galaxy. Played it day and night, more than I did when I borrowed it from my friend. And while the final level was nothing special, finally beating the game and sitting in my room with nothing but the TV of the game for light was such and indescribable feeling. This game means more to me because of how many years it was a part of my life.
