thank you!! Drone??
@StNickTravels7 күн бұрын
We did bring the drone as the rules were quite vague when we went! We were sure not to fly it at all in Etosha or Sossusvlei when the rules were quite clear but it is a large and sparse country so we were able to fly it on some of our drives and by the ocean when it wasn't a disturbance. No issues at customs but they didn't really check for anything or acknowledge it. Always recommend checking and following the most up to date rules!

Would recommend the Tracks4Africa app. Much more up to date and shows the types of roads much better than Google maps. Plus a lot of overlanding related info. Worth it.

I do not believe that they had any club level so the entire facility was accessible to everyone. There are still a few additional paid items such as the cabanas, an elevated dining experience, and some water sports.

Tough question as I would say it really depends on what you're looking for: beach, food, pools, etc. Overall, I think Secrets Moxche is top for us. As I mentioned, different though for different things. Best food was Hyatt Zilara, best entertainment was Planet Hollywood, and many others provide better value!

Thanks for the great video! Heading to Sao Miguel next week and have been on the fence about which hot springs to go to. Curious to see if all the construction is over at Terra Nostra. How was the bottom of the lagoon, is it paved and smooth like a pool? Also, did you buy tickets in advance? The ticket office link on their website doesn't work. Thanks again for the great video!
@StNickTravels23 күн бұрын
Awesome, we're sure you love it! Glad you enjoyed the video as well. It is a paved bottom but when we were there it was covered in leaves. Given the surroundings, that's probably the case often. It was soft and enjoyable though! We just purchased the tickets upon arrival!

Hi there! We have not been to the Hyatt Ziva but we have been to the Hyatt Zilara which is the adults only sister property. The Zilara has a slight edge on better food but overall would definitely say that the Secrets Moxche is better!

How did you get the permit for the Bindi Ntlpark / Gorilla Trekking? What company did you hire the car with? + Edit: do you have a complete itinerary? i.e. day 1 arrival to day x departure? What telephotolense did you bring for safari? Did you had a fridge / cooler in the rented SUV (for food + snacks)? Did you take malaria prophylaxis?
@StNickTravels23 күн бұрын
Happy to provide some additional info: We got the gorilla trekking permit through our hotel in Bwindi - Bwindi Guest House. Most places you stay can assist with those types of things! They picked up the permits from the capital for us and had it ready to go. If you end up booking with them you can use our link to support us (it doesn't cost you anything): www.booking.com/hotel/ug/bwindi-guest-house.en-us.html?aid=8073218 We rented from the car through 4x4 Uganda, they were great! www.4x4uganda.com/ If you watched our full KZfaq series I think it gives the best depiction of the itinerary but generally we did 2 days Murchison Falls, 1 day Kibale, 4 days Queen Elizabeth, 1 day Bwindi, and 1 day Mburu. Our lens was an older Nikon 70-300mm zoom lens. No fridge cooler in the SUV but we know that's common. We just had dry snacks and ate daily at our hotels. Yes, we did take the daily malaria meds when we were there! Hope that helps and that you have an amazing trip!

@@StNickTravels Hi there, Thank you so much for the reply. Apparently, they changed the way the hand out Gorilla / Chimp Permits this year - you only can get them through tour guides (4x4 rental companies classify as tour guides). Did you bring your own mosquito nets with you or were you always provided mosquito nets at the hotels? Thanks again!
@StNickTravels10 күн бұрын
@@KongKillha Oh that's interesting! I would imagine. the 4x4 company can assist as we understand the permits must be picked up from the capital. Every hotel we stayed at provided a mosquito net! I can't imagine one that would not provide it but can always double check with them if there are any concerns.

Hi! We are going to stay at the JW Cabo in February 2025. Any tips on renting a car and parking when you went out in town for dinners?
@StNickTravelsАй бұрын
Hello! Parking wasn't really too much of an issue when you went into town and the signs were pretty easy to follow. We always use AutoSlash to get our rental cars. One nuance with renting a car in Mexico is they require liability insure so usually we have to argue that our credit card covers that but up to you on how you want to handle it.

My partner and I had the good fortune of living in Mexico City in 2021. It's an incredible city that most Americans never seem to consider visiting. Aside from the extremely friendly people and the abundance of cultural things to do, the food is crazy good! El Huequito was our favorite place for Tacos al pastor. Check them out if you get a chance.

@StNickTravelsАй бұрын
Glad to hear it was helpful and appreciate the support! From what we remember, most gas stations did not have an issue paying with card but we recall one or two explicit instances of it (one very small station outside of Ishasha and another between stops where we had to walk across the street to an ATM). We mostly had issues with it in paying for permits at the park entrances and then at two of our hotels.
