No tach yet, no oil pressure gauge yet, half an interior, front bumper pad flew off on a back road and the right rear tire was rubbing, but besides that, she’s good!

Amazing work! I could never get the belt alignment right with my TPC... Made worse when I reinforced the engine carrier. Kept ripping belts. It was solved easily by installing the Clewett pulley and tensioner. Had to get a different supercharger pulley and belt to match.

@@lowcountrydawg2525 I know that- the question is what year, specifically, is this one? Not what "years" 964's were made.
@RichPugh Жыл бұрын
@@yjmsrv I mean you asked “what year is this”… I didn’t even know what you were asking, lol. I thought you meant what year was this video taken… so i was going to say 2015… but the car itself is a 1990 (with later mirrors).

Hope you don't need heat from the FabSpeeds- their design doesn't defrost windows much less heat the cabin. Otherwise great headers/ exhaust- but the heat exchanger is terrible.

Had one in 82 second hand, worst bike I have ever owned. Bought from a dealer I've previously used, bike started great from cold but would cut out at junctions when warm and would not restart on electric, only kick start. Back under warranty, waiting weeks for parts and told them to rebuild it with original pistons and rings, they were waiting for new pistons and rings. Still not right, eventually a friend who used to work at the dealer stripped the engine and found the fault. Previous owner had dropped the bike and bent the crank, fitted a new outer cover and sold the bike. Ended up breaking for spares, lost a lot of money on that one.

any chance you happen to know your carb jet settings on it (main, pilot, float height, fuel screw turns etc)? Got myself a 2D, 3-1 exhaust and pod filters.

Hello Rich! I've got similiar setup, tcp stage 1 but without intercooler, Fabspeed and Unichip. I have a problem because the car cought some fire and now I can't even get a part list or assembly manual from TCP or Weistec Engineering. Do you have any documentation you can share? Let me know [email protected] Thanks!

How does it run that well with pod filters? I've heard they're a nightmare to tune in. I want em for my 78 XS750SE
@georgeerhard19495 жыл бұрын
I threw pods on my 79, and didn't really need to do much retuning. It was a bear to start 'cold' but once warmed up, it ran solid and started easily.

Is the brake light (white) on the dash supposed to illuminate with the brake light or illuminate when the brakes are not working? Somone cut all the wires to the gauges vs unplugging them (for the no gauge look) and I'm trying to get all to work again.

How does that ignition switch come out? Neither my speedo or tac work. I know the tacs on the xs750’s don’t have a good rep but I want to swap my gauge cluster for one that works. Like to know my speed haha

Sorry to hear it is sold. I had bought a new one in April 1979, and kept it up until a few years ago. I am still regretting the day that I let it leave me, and am looking to replace it. If the new owner of yours is looking to pass it on I would be an interested buyer.

I've just bought one but can't figure out why it is has fuel switches? Anyone?
@BillAndersonNS9 жыл бұрын
TheHerbshirt The petcocks serve two functions. 1) to turn the fuel flow off so that the gas doesn't drip into the carburators when the bike is at rest. 2) there is a reserve position so when you "run out of gas" there is still enough gas to hopefully get you to a gas station when you switch the petcock to reserve.

Hah, why do you not think it's a 79? It definitely is a 1979 XS750F with the original Mikuni Mk2 carbs (currently swapped for later 81 Hitachi's), redline was 9000 rpm (early models were 7500), viewing window for oil on right side case (76 and 77 didnt have that), and tubeless cast wheels... It's def a 79 :)
