Hi Jake, we might have another power cut at the Santa shack again…may or may not be on purpose 🤣 Jokes aside…what a cracker of a truck. Why did Dad and I not make use of the pub. We sure needed it 🤣 Hopefully this year goes a bit smoother for us.

Whoa! How does it go in the Australian heat? Have you done some real life testing yet?
@offroadtv.australia8 ай бұрын
So far it has been unreal - running A/C and the bar off grid with power to spare 💪 Yesterday was a great test (40C outside) and the MPPTs (hottest point) got to 46C which is great (and that is without running fans whilst charging and running the 3000w inverter). So far there seems to be enough space in the cabinet to disperse the heat but we do have fans and filters ready to install if the temps get higher..

I had a second hand x bull that popped, got a Bushranger x Jack, they are a bit wider and work fine when jacking up one side and are a bit more stable. Used it on a downhill track when we couldn't fit a normal jack or high lift to change a tyre. Haven't had to use it myself as I have an FJ (they don't get stuck). Nice FJ you have, thanks for the content.
@offroadtv.australia9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip - will give the Bushranger go as well! But yes - they are definitely a viable option and given the size, weight and price quite tempting to have in the arsenal.. (glad you like our FJ! 👌)

Hi to anyone interested in my feed back. I have run one of these for exactly 15 months now, installed May 2022. Initially on intall the most immediate observation was the speed my diesel cranked and fired into life, brilliant benefit straight off aside from wieght benefit. Have utilised it to winch with, but nothing as extreme as suggested here in a comment. In regard to wiring query for second battery. The only sticking point is: You need a difinate seperation of batteries once vehicle alternator isn't charging, hence I installed a ignition sensitive relay, when ignition on = motor running relay joins batteries, ingnition off, relay seperates batteries. Why? Voltage regulated units that are usually utilised to seperate batteries generally cut in over 13.2v joining batteries and drop out at 12.7v seperating batteries. Issue, at 12.7v the 1420CA Pro is basically flat and can't be relied on to crank/start your motor. So, if you utilise a regulated voltage seperation device as I was, (Redarc 1225D) I just placed the relay prior to create a definitive seperation at high voltage. Now don't see this as a draw back, it's certainly not been an issue for me, the battery as a starter/winch has been totally brilliant. For the record, I utilise 3x Itech 12v 54 amp lithium as auxiliary batteries, am I happy with my setup, 100%. Hope this helps with queries. Oh. To Itech Worlds credit, I was asked if I had auxiliary batteries on purchase of 1420CA Pro and was advised I'd need a definitive seperation, not to rely on the 1225D.
