Not sure if anything can beat the LC on that but the choice of the proven BMW powerplant with its modest tune for longevity is definitely a good sign but only time will tell. 🤞

@@Laguna2013 Doug DeMuro....why the fuck would anyone want his opinion on anything? He doesn't have a clue about what makes a car good. He just repewts stereotypes he has heard. I don't think he even understands or feels driving dynamics judging by his videos.

Couldn't agree more! We absolutely loved driving it! Only did some sandy bits and a few smaller hills but it drives very smooth and you feel like in a cockpit of a fighter jet.. And all the switches have a great tactic feedback and the manual 4wd selector makes you feel like you did something every time you engage it;)

Did you ask about fuel capacity / long range tanks for AUS

It has 90l fuel tank stock (~10-12l/100km) which is decent but could definitely use aux tank for some long distance overlanding.. Pretty sure someone like LRA will have one available in no time👌

I love it. But only one thing that I have is the engine. I heard that the BMW engine that they put in has some issues. I hear that there are many important parts made by plastic.

there are no engines that don't have plastic...this may have an issue, but probably not. the b58/b57s have proven to be very reliable.

Strong engine , emission control systems will give you hard time , dpf egr and flaps in the intake

Dont swap your Toyota yet, this car has no proven record of reliability , I have a landcruiser with 60 years proven record , versus a five year old car that only journalists have driven. Second hand value who knows?

It must be tested in very hot areas of 55 C under direct sunlight in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula and the Sahara Desert! Then we say reliable car 🧠✅

Agree on the use case and keeping it simple, there's only one thing holding us from choosing the Grenadier, it's the lack of any planned PHEV model. Environmenal considerations, the ability to charge if for free with our rooftop solar, and the extra tourque means we're favouring a 4x4 PHEV, and there's every indication the Everest and the Prado will have PHEV models in the market in the next 2-3 years, and both are proven capable 4x4s.

Hopefully one day there will be one as well.. PHEV are getting more and more tempting - especially with fuel prices increasing and solar prices dropping..

Who the hell cares if Lewis Hamilton liked the Grenadier? He knows nothing about overlanding. He is a influencer at best. He is a F1 pilot with a diva attatude. As long as people like Andrew St. Pierre White dont say the car is good, it wont be bought.

You have a point there. From the very short time we were able to drive it off road we were quite impressed but can't wait to have one for a longer time and take it on some tough tracks we usually do (like the Simpson, CSR, Cape York etc .) Hopefully soon..
