Jimmy didn't do anything dirty when going up to the wall. The sporting code says the outside car must go out to the wall on corner exit to give the inside car the most viable line. He was obligated to go all the way up to the wall. He didnt, and contact was made.

I simply wouldn't do that. Sometimes the excitement of replicating the real stuff is better than being competitive.

They should have nixed the built in screen and toy button box and made better pedals and sold it at a lower price. Substance over flash.

Isnt it a bit realistic? Cus as far as ik F1 and probably the other Formula series use a button for a clutch too instead of a pedal

And this is why I basically only say "Good luck guys." at the beginning of the race, and "Good race guys." at the end of the race. And nothing during the race. :joy:

I unfortunately had a really bad experience with this racing wheel. I did not have any structural flex or play, which means they noticed an attempt to correct it. Awesome! But their latest firmware (v1.20) made things.. a lot worse. I encountered a decent amount of software bugs that required some boucning around the menus or just plain turning it off and on again. My pedals would constantly keep registering input even when not pressed (throttle got stuck at 50% sometimes, clutch and brake around 15%). The brake was 0-100% with just a tad bit of pressure, and sensitivity curves or deadzones did not help at all. There were some design flaws I found to be something that could have been totally avoidable. I really wanted to like it, and I kept it for 4 days before dropping it back off at my local UPS store. If the wheel is on sale at a really decent discount, I'd recommend it.. for starters and desk pilots. I already ordered the Fanatec CSL DD to replace it entirely. Something I should have done in the first place.

Those bump works, but be prepared to get reported. I did this last week to a guy who crashed out 2 people during the race. So I wasn't nice and bumped him and took his spot. Next lap he tried the same and spun out and I got a report lol

I always say this, if you have the ability (chance and luck) to win, win. But if you can’t, survive and hope to finish well. Top 5s and top 10s are still great to have along with wins and championships

I have been a wheel racer on and off for a decade. The r5 was my first DD where I thought it wasn't a waste of money if in only did a handful races a month. Not several months into ownership It has made me want to race more and I think will upgrade in the next few months. And If i didn't want to upgrade this would work very well for me for the continued future.

They dont use VR cause they play too much. That's the only reason. Vr is Much better in every way for driving. Ask any Pro pilot how they feel about screen vs VR practice.

As all DLC, you are not really buying anything. If you buy something then something becomes yours . You are trading your money for a physical or digital goods with which you can do whatever you like and use it as long you want. “Buying” a car is really more like leasing a car with a up front costs and your lease contract can be revoked at any time without reason. And then you have to pay a monthly fee. So it is not buying or purchasing at all.

Everything you're saying here is second nature to road racers. I've been a road racer for years, and never once did any oval stuff until I got bored recently, mostly because it seems boring. I got on track in the street stock, and after practicing for a few minutes to feel out the car, I was hitting top lap times with ease. After 4 races, I was class D and was winning most of them. My point: Momentum, the racing line, what is fast versus what is good for your tires, all these things are drilled into your head like second nature when you learn on the road side of things, and the ideal line will always follow the same concept across all racing disciplines(even dirt). Start wide, apex in, exit wide. Road racing is all about shaving every possible 10th on a track that actually challenges you(has more than left turns). If you can become good on tracks like Suzuka, you'll find oval racing to be child's play. So, go turn some road laps if you're looking to improve your oval lap times.

You’re at the part of the “road racer tries oval racing cycle” where your driving experience obviously carries you against rookies in rookie series who just bought a steering wheel. Soon you will reach the part where you drive against people with similar overall driving experience and you will come back complaining about how you get wrecked every race and everyone sucks that’s why you don’t win anymore. You got a lot to learn my friend and that’s okay!

@@DJYeeJay It's week 13. There are people from all license classes, otherwise you'd be correct. The splits I ended up being in after a few races were second and top, usually. But anyway, I'm sure if I decided to continue on to the top end oval series, I'd be challenged. The skill set most useful in oval races revolves around driving in traffic. Draft, wheel to wheel precision, etc. I don't have much problem with that, but it at least means the racing will be close, regardless of how fast your lap times are, being that 1st place to 20th is usually less than a second apart.
