Hi again Justeen, I would like to ask you how to present the part which we have not added in the slides for ex : how to present the testing part when its not yet accomplish in the assessment due to time limit. Whether to present it in detail ? as to what I could have done if time permits from choosing the method to text X hypothesis and then evaluating or keeping it short ??
@Justeen15
@Justeen15 2 күн бұрын
I think the best thing to do is to not get yourself in that situation, so budget time to test, show, walkthrough with a friend, family members. 15-30m testing will already give you good info. I bet you can spare 15 min somewhere. If you really don't get to test, at least have a plan of what to test, what assumptions to have, and know what to do if the result is A vs B. Or are you asking if you don't have enough time to present the testing portion during the presentation? If so, it's more about laying out what the test goals is, what the results are, and what you did with the info. Am I understanding you question correctly? Let me know! Or you can join the Discord to chat more!

And is it okay to use templates from figma for design in challenge??
@Justeen15
@Justeen15 3 күн бұрын
I think it's totally fine, as long as your solution solves the problem/challenge. The template won't do that for you, but to speed things up. If it helps you save time and allocate that time on iteration and polish, I think that's a win!

Thanks Justeen for the explanation. I got a challenge where in I was told by the hiring manager to focus on process and they don't want polished UI .In this case what should be done ??
@Justeen15
@Justeen15 3 күн бұрын
Hello! Thanks for the comment! If they told you specifically, then I think spending more time on the iteration is going to be critical (and have the process ready to present). I don't think that means UI is completely out of the challenge, maybe instead of spending 20 hours on the UI, you spend 5-10 hours on it. Another thing to do is to draft up a few different mockup with different fidelity and just ask the manager what level they are looking for. Does that help?

Great video! Regarding volatility during earnings @9:45...I'm seeing that stocks with earnings coming up in a month-ish timeframe (e.g. AAPL, BLK) don't actually have higher IV for that corresponding option period, yet the option price is higher (e.g. APPL's 8/2 235C is 3x more expensive than the 7/26 235C...just a week earlier). The price of the 8/2 options are very high, and it appears the theta is also higher (as you said, more needed to drop the price), but IV doesn't appear to be the cause of the higher price as 8/2 and 7/26 are 27% and 24%, respectively. So should your slide say High Price -> High Theta? Also - I thought IV was derived from price, but per my example, this doesn't appear to be true. Any thoughts??
@Justeen15
@Justeen15 27 күн бұрын
Hey thanks for the comments! I see what you mean, so the connection there is, high IV will cause high option price, and because of the high option price, the theta will be higher. What you said about "high price -> high theta" is true. At the same thing, if you think about what drives the price high? There are many factors and IV being one of them, so it's like high IV -> high price -> high theta. I was simplifying the connection in the video with "high IV -> high theta", cuz if the IV is so high, the theta is very likely to be high as well. Does that help? Let me know if you have more questions!

Correction in the video (thank @jamesdevlin1351 calling it out) 7:00 it should be "720 call and 715 call" instead of ""720 put and 715 put" 8:48 it should be "if the TSLA ends at $620", not "$720" 9:34 max loss should be $3588, not $3320 (I don't know where it came from lol)

If tsla ends at 720, wouldn’t the 715 call be in the money ? I don’t understand how this would this be a total loss. Also, where is the $3320 max loss figure coming from if the contract costs $3588 ? I thought I was starting to understand this but the ending of this video is confusing me ! TIA
