Hey Alante, you can easily clean the claws by unclamping them and using a warm, soapy cloth to wipe the inside of the claw fingers. You can also spray them with sterilizing alcohol for an extra thorough clean.

Some discussion of this on the Talk Tennis forums: Is the "anti-slip surface treatment on all fingers" the same for 2.0 and 2.0+? Is the only difference between 2.0 and 2.0+ "aesthetic, durability, and awe"?
@myprostringer
@myprostringer Жыл бұрын
Good question Jeremy! The Claw 2.0 fingers has been treated with a special process to increase grip and reduce the use of clamping force that would damage the string. However! For the Claw 2.0+ aka the premium Chrome Plated ones, they have been treated with laser engravings that is much durable and gentle on the string to prevent any uneccesary pinching! :)

Why is this method preferable to clamping at the throat, and then pulling from the head and clamping to a helper string at the head end? The butt cap pull seems like extra effort, I can't see the advantage.
@myprostringer
@myprostringer Жыл бұрын
Great question! One reason is that it depends on the string pattern. Racquets that have more strings going through the throat will benefit from a buttcap pull, for example. Some racquets start at the head, and some at the throat, so that too will impact where you clamp first.

Ciao, ottime domande!

Hi Pro Stringer. Thank you for this video, it has helped me so much as a beginner. However could you please upload a tutorial on how to string a racket with 4 bumps ( with the two holes where you put the strings in ) on the bottom side of the racket? I’m currently using a Yonex racket and there aren’t any tutorials on how to string these types of rackets with the Prostringer machine… Thank you :)
@myprostringer
@myprostringer 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Luke, great question! If you have a racquet with the 4 "bumps" at the throat, then you simple start the racquet by inserting the strings at the opposite end of the racquet. This means that you will feed in the string from the head of the racquet towards the throat, and do the same as you see in the video, except from the opposite side of the racquet. Just make sure to skip the correct holes based on your string pattern as some Yonex racquets can be tricky! Let us know if you run into any troubles!

When mounting the racket I noticed on the 2nd mount you adjust it tight enough that you see the racket head bend a bit. Is that a recommended practice? With 2 point mounts I sometimes get frame bending - assuming this is to account for that?
@myprostringer
@myprostringer 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Saitama, thanks for your message! The racquet head should definitely not bend. We recommend adjusting at the point where you meet resistance, but not to force it tighter. A big misconception with Pro Stringer is that since it has a 2-point mounting system, it is unsafe for the racquet. The opposite is true! With the Pro Stringer 2-point mounting system there should be no frame bending of any kind. Since the stringer is placed against the racquet frame during tensioning, it places symmetrical load on the racquet instead of an imbalanced strain that occurs from traditional stringing machines that pull at a distance. As a result, the 2-point mounting system for Pro Stringer is actually safer than 6 point mounting systems on dropweight machines and just as safe as other 6 point mounting systems. We have run many stress test analysis to confirm this and received very conclusive and positive results about this fact.
