Nope it's not worth it. Recycling is always a good idea. But the chemicals and the poor return make this practice not worth the time.

So much electronics in those ultrasound machines, I need to get one for my teardown hobby. Sometimes they can be found almost free on ebay or classifieds websites, but the shipping is always prohibitive. Also, I can't move alone a 200 kgs machine.

Если сам этого никогда не занимался и плохо знаеш химию, то лучше отдай свой позолоченный материал специалисту в этом деле. Тебе снимут все эти металлы по цене как вы договоритесь. Толко из раствора медь многи не достают а забирают в основном золото, серебро , палладий и платину, всё зависит от содержания таких металлов в деталях. Правда медь из раствора достать самое лёгкое кинув в отработанный раствор железо, растворённая медь выпадет реакцией замещения .

Is there a reason you don't put sim cards straight to aqua regia? Wouldn't that cause gold to dissolve from sim cards to solution and there would be no need for first part with the gold flakes.
