The runouts almost look more difficult than the chutes. High speed over less than ideal conditions. How about having your friends take videos of you so we can see your style.

I am glad you posted this. If that was the last day at kirkwood I was there and it looked great from afar. Looks tricky in your video. At 64 li am sure my legs would not hold up that long.

I think I am mostly done with skiing but I have to say, Bear Valley has the best powder set up in California. No waiting in line hours before the first chair starts moving. One critical condition, it has to be a large/deep low elevation dump. 2 feet of fluff is perfect. ( the parking lot at bear valley is at mid mountain.) What they typically do is keep the lower mountain closed until 10:30 or 11:00. ( All the good stuff is on the lower mountain.) So the powder hounds hit their favorite upper mountain stashes. The runs are short with not that much pitch. However you must never forget!.....Always keep your eyes on the Grizzly bowl and snow valley gates. When they open up you are in for the time of your life! Wide open bowls, rolling drops, gullies, trees, cliffs, side hill, willow forest, rock gardens, steeps, hikes, traverses and powder runs that will last the the whole day. Your legs will be burning and believe it or not you will not even mind the slow double chair back up. I have a video I should post but it shows some "secret" spots, like end of the day fresh track type runs that I don't want to spoil. Hint, if you study the trail map and follow the rules you may be able to figure it out. If you happen to hit Bear Valley on one of these special days, you will be telling your grand kids about that one day....

@DaleySpam As someone much older than you (and hopefully somewhat wiser), if you are going to keep dropping lines with this style you really need to learn to carve to have a long skiing future. Snowbird is my home resort ... glad to see some content there!

Skiing Mainline Pocket makes you a better skier, I truly believe that more than any other area at Squaw. GC can wreck you in bad conditions and Chimney is really for daredevils. Mainline’s runs are short, no risk of hitting a tree, and you can ramp up the difficulty as much as you like while being watched from below. Pure stoke

Another question, what size underfoot and length are your skis you typically like to run usually at Squaw? I ran 118 under with 181 4FRNT Inthaynes the week I was there this season. I almost broke out my Ravens 104 under 184 length but never used em
@DaleySpam
@DaleySpam 3 ай бұрын
So the ones in this video are 100 underfoot and 179cm. My other pair (Moment Wildcat 108s) are 108 underfoot and 190cm. The moments handle basically any conditions wonderfully (though I’m sure your 118s are even better in deep pow).
