This tour was the first time I saw Billy Bragg and Michelle Shocked live, not at Dominion though but a place in Stockholm. Good times!

I was a huge fan of bassist Bruce Thomas in Quiver and one day he popped up in the Attractions. It was a good time to be in London.

a friend and i went to see The Attractions and then we saw their tour bus parked at a local hotel. we didn't have much money but we went into the bar. Pete Thomas and Bruce Thomas were sitting at a table. we only had enough to one round of drinks so we bought one for Dave, Bruce and ourselves. i didn't expect it but one of them bought us the next round. great guys!

Thanks for this upload. I'm an early Elvis fan. I saw him play in New York's Forest Hills Tennis Stadium during the Trust tour (1981). Squeeze opened for Elvis and the Attraction and Chris Difford later joined him for some of the duets. I enjoyed hearing Elvis' thoughts in this BBC documentary.

Yikes! This is hard to watch. Steve and Tony should be swapping instruments back and forth. You have the original guitar player for Generation X there ... why wouldn't you be using him, since Steve can't seem to keep up. 😭

Tony James was the bass player in Generation X, it was Bob Andrews who was the guitarist.

Not sure how much Spike holds up today. I've been gripped again by this documentary and will re-evaluate. This was my introduction to Costello properly (I knew 'Oliver's Army', everyone did in Britain, still do). Preferred 'Mighty Like a Rose', but find it so hard to be objective as I think he's up with McCartney, Dylan, Young, Motown etc.

I am currently reading a book about Billy called "Billy Bragg" and it's not very good. I saw Billy when he was an opening act for Echo & the Bunnymen in New Orleans man-years ago. I stood in front of Billy as an opening act and I was the only one. Billy deserves more credit than he is given. I bought his album "The Milk of Human Kindness." Apparently human kindness is not appreciated by too many.. Perhaps in Britain he gets more credit & I sincerely hope so.

I have two copies of this in my Damned collection, mates were always trying to buy one from me but I wouldn't sell, I used to attend record fairs in the '80s and the price of these was increasing every time I saw them, that's the reason I bought the second one, I haven't a clue what they are worth today.

This is PEAK live Ramones. Before they sped up to ridiculous levels, but a few more lyrically and musically developed songs than in the 70s. Tight as a drum, the right amount of polish, with the right amount of snot still.

Jesus - we need the Clash now more than ever. Even one drop of Joe's spirit and energy would dilute the tepid mediocrity of music today. We're standing on the edge of apocalypse and no one is saying a word.
