I use Kicad. (freeware, easy to use and an extensive library of components and footprints) You start from your circuit diagram and from there you create the PCB layout. You can have a rule check performed on both your schematic and your PCB. You even get a 3D view. You export the Kicad file and send it to the PCB manufacturer. A few days later you will receive a professionally made PCB in your mailbox. (with silk screen, corrosion protection, drilled holes, ...) Easy, simple and no polluting chemicals at home.

CLASS H is my choice.. No one can hear or even feel 2Hz... LOL I like 8-ohm- 4-Ohm... Impedance.. When you get below 2-Ohms.. unless it's a subwoofer things start to get pretty MUDDY to me.. You got a couple of nice BOAT anchors there.. Maybe you could convert them into the infamous infrared heaters..

In today's world and with advancements in transistor tech. using an older or newer tube amp. is like going to an ART SHOW with sunglasses classes on... Tubes do NOT provide a better or warmer sound than a good high-end transistor amp. does today.. Hey, it's all in the EARS of thee BEHOLDER. If you want to spend a lot of money on old technology...go for it.. For my home sound system, I like to run professional live music amplification and speakers. P.A. equipment to me sounds just as good as a GOOD looking Artsy, Fartsy, setup that costs 10s of thousands of dollars.. Look at the specs.. of your equipment before you buy.. Learn how to understand electronic specification data sheets.. Why buy an amp. for $3K when you can get one for $400 that has just as good or better specifications on the data sheet..

I have a pair of these Ona storage shelf. I’ve overhauled them but it was early in my interest in tube amp work. Requires a recheck before use. I did acquire a quad of NOS 6FW5 which is near same tube but it has a higher screen voltage. I did try 6AU5 in amp and it’s easy to replace them. When set up I found no benefit.

I'm having trouble with a tube radio that is discharging to the metal plate, and the volume and tuning knobs when it's on... I tried reversing the plug (as it Doesn't have ground discharge) and it doesn't kick when it's on but when it's off.

Why do you make it so difficult ? In my opinion it is possible to design an electronic circuit that fits in the original can and with only 3 connections. (X, L and P)

Hello. I have a boombox which does not play any radio station clearly. Every station has static noise. My car radio plays them all good so the signal is good. The boombox is very clean inside and has a new fm antenna. Where should I check? TY

Hi Paul - Just an idea but may be very useful for others who own this radio: A video about building a power supply for this radio. Most people who own this radio opt for a home brew power supply that doesn’t use the dynamotor (including myself). Would really enjoy to see how you would design a supply for this radio. Just an idea… thanks!

Wow…talk about over-engineering to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. 😂 While the skill and knowledge is impressive, I’d convert the car to 12v (for many advantages) and then carry an extra flasher unit. When any single component on that board fails, how to you repair that while on a road trip?? KISS is a great philosophy to apply.

Really cool video love seeing all the big iron ,and well Big everything inside that transmitter makes working on old tube amps feel like building models on a 1/32 scale. You have a diverse and very interesting channel im very thankful that you share your knowledge.

not bimetal, it's just a wire, when it gets hot it gets longer. some flasher unit pass the lamp current through the wire instead of using a separate heater.

17:30 I could not find the video referenced, though aware the helical cut causes induction. What I never could find or get an answer on is if this affects the signal through the resistor and/or surrounding signal(s). You and others have warned about resistor selection in RF circuits, however, carbon composition resistors are no longer being manufactured and becoming difficult to obtain. So then does that mean at that time radios will be no longer repairable? Or am I over thinking replacing out of value resistors in this 1964 German radio? Thanks in advance, Adriel
