the 992.1 version is still available as a 2025 model, the digital cockpit 992.2 version has only been so far released as the GTS not the Turbos

I just bought a 2016 model. Completely in love. Agree with everything you’ve said. I test drove so many cars, but the Audi won me over with the 5 cylinder sound, and total packaging. 😊

I’ve owned mine for 10 years and it’s far from a Widowmaker. The 70’s and 80’s were chock full of image conscious buyers who cared more for how they look behind the wheel and less about how to actually handle that wheel. The boost rush is actually kind of disappointing if you watch too many KZfaq vids before getting behind the wheel.

Great video Max! Loving your reviews! I used to own the 991 Turbo S and that was phenomenal performance! (Comfortable too!) But lacked in sound, and soul, not much can touch it in performance but it’s how it makes you feel? The 992 Turbo S of course is better and even faster, but how does it make you feel against something like a 5 litre supercharger, with instant power and glorious sound? Yes The Porsche is faster, but is it as much fun?

Thanks for the update. I've had two generations of sports and have had no issues. I presently lookin for the gen 3 for my wife.. and I've seen both of your reviews on this. Hmnmmmmmmm.... now... Im not lookin at the SV, but... this should not have been the experience a buyer should have had.

amazing... I've owned generation 1 and 2 ranger rover sport... never a single problem, except once the alternator went kaput at around 80,000 miles on my gen 2. I guess I've just been lucky.

2.7 seconds Porsche quote is the 0-62mph (100kmph) time. It’s 2.6 seconds to 60, but most are faster than official figures. Good video. Pick my 992 turbo s Cabriolet up in 4 weeks time.😎

Well, as far as unlimited road versions in the 911 range are concerned, you are driving the top of the range. To say it should be the (potential) buyer’s choice is maybe a wee bit exaggerated, because the end price (costly and numerous options included) is going to drastically shorten the list of interested clients for a 911. And the business of figuring out whether the Turbo S is a sports car or a super car seems a bit vain too. Isn’t it simply an astounding all round GT ? I mean it’s by no means a GT3 or GT3 RS and does’t drive or feel like one. All 911ses are sports cars, some of them destined primarily for track use. Full stop. 😎

I came out of a Huracan into a 992 Turbo S and haven’t looked back. For me it fits right up there with Supercars I’ve owned and value it as one too. Porsche tried to give it more of a GT feel and when selecting PDCC and PASM/Sport PASM it stiffens up and has more of that GT character. Honestly doubt I’ll sell mine.

I had a 991.2 gt3 for a few years then changed for a 992 Targa GTS which I didn’t gel with. Have a Boxster 4.0 GTS currently which is good fun but going to get back into a 911, just deciding between a gt3 touring or turbo s cab, which woujd you recommend

Interesting choices. I considered 992 GT3 but the ‘non-touring’ felt too hard on the road. I’ve heard a touring is still more stiff than a 991.2 GT3. I tried the 991.2 and found it very good as a daily but comfort wise the turbo feels like a Bentley level of comfort. Not as loud as a 4.0 NA of course but on balance I wanted speed and comfort. As said in the video, the noise is pleasant. Way better than my 991.2 Turbo S was with stock exhaust. My choice would be turbo but I can see why people choose touring.
