@GCCarsCAКүн бұрын
For these two, the CX-30 is definitely significantly more comfortable but the lack of space might be a drawback if you plan on going on longer trips with your friends. Looking beyond, do you need AWD? If not, I'd seriously consider the Trax as it is nice and refined at a great value. Both the CX-30 and Seltos are already approaching compact SUV territory in terms of pricing, so low mid-spec CX-5 might be on the cards as well. Hope that helps! :)

They keep saying 95k CAD but it starts at 63.5k in Canada, if you're able to resist the fancy options (plus you get PHEV subsidies). You get the same drive trains. For people like me that usually commute 20km a day but sometimes has to get to clients 900km away it's perfect. (my other car is fully electric).

We can only test what manufacturers put into the fleet, and that is usually the top trim like Volvo has done here. So the comparisons themselves remain fair, as it always top trim vs top trim. Any lower-spec opinions can then be extrapolated from that. But you're right, the top trim rarely is the one to pick!

Lincoln has, in the past, made some odd decisions: Asher Grey and Beyond Blue would have looked great together, but that wasn't an available combination. Instead, Sandstone and Cashew could be paired with Asher Grey. U-g-l-y... Then there were all of those chrome grille/black wheel Corsairs which looked as odd as it sounds...

Borh cars are great, no doubt. However, price is not a factor, as someone mentioned in the comments. If you've been looking to purchase, you already know that you can get the Type S for MSRP or less, while the Type R is still selling at over MSRP (lucky you if you can get one at MSRP). If you want the burbles like the Type S in the Type R, you don't have to buy a $2000 exhaust; instead buy a Hondata Flaspro and unlock the ECU. You can add the burbles like the Type S or you have two more options for more aggressive burbles. You'll also get more power and can eliminate rev hang (both cars have serious rev hang) amongst other features that you cam enable. Lastly, the seats are way better in the Type R and it is made in Japan, which may be why the fit/finish is slightly better. Again, both are great and you would be happy with either.
@GCCarsCA4 күн бұрын
Markups and availability have a huge influence on this comparison, you're right. But due to differences depending on the local market it's more fair for us to compare MSRP to MSRP 👍🏼

5'7" and 140 lb is far from being on the limit for the CTR seats. That's absurd. I'm 6'1" and 210 lb with shoulders and absolutely love the FL5 seats, as do all of my larger friends. For a sport seat, Honda did a brilliant job of shaping them to fit a wide range of humans. The Mk3 Focus RS seats and Porsche carbon buckets are what I would consider on the tight side, for some context.

At 1st when both cars came out I really loved the fl5. Because I love discretion more the only mod I'd do to the fl5 is the suspension mod to make it more softer because I'm not a track person and somehow find a way of getting a rear wing delete. That was then... Now the Integra Type S has really grown on me and I'm really loving it. Only 2 things I wished the car had was a lower load height for the trunk/boot and a sunroof. Other that that the type s is one bad ass car for me now
@brhardi4832610 күн бұрын
The cheap leather on the interior is what kills the Type S for me. Acura should have upped the price a little to 60-65K and made a 400hp AWD or RWD Integra Type R coupe with a premium interior.

I traded in my CW FL5 for an Integra Type S partly because of a problem that's also evident in this video: The hatch of the Champ White Type R is unacceptably more yellow in colour than the rest of the rear. Really preferring my Type S as a daily street car, with the added benefit of its exhaust personality. The Type R's seats and +R gauge would give it the advantage on the track though. For those who are older and/or don't live on a racetrack, the Type S is likely the better car.
@noirrain60059 күн бұрын

I like your approach. it is even not nitpicky enough. Cars seems nowadays to be designed in an office, by managers that look at marketing and cost sheets. They seem to drive their designs only rarely and only in ideal circumstances. Some examples. The XC40 garbage can is mentionned as a big invention - marketing tool - in all Volvo docs and reviews. But seldom it is mentionned that consequently the central arm rest is way too short. You did not notice it in your review maybe because the seats were in the full back position to have a better camera view, or you did not drive long enough to have the need to rest your arm? Before my new XC40 with Google navigation, I owned an XC60 with the previous software. The Google navigation is a great progress, but also some essentials disappeard. Like adjustment of the brightness of the screen displays by a handy turnbutton. The button has disappeared and now you have to tap, slide, tap, slide agian... Did nobody at Volvo drive the car at night, with sudden changing light intensities like going through a tunnel? This is not nitpicking, but essential safety. Is safety no longer a Volvo priority, like omitting an head-up display? (In the new EX30 there is even no longer a driver display...). When the navigation screen is on, nowhere is indicated what media or radio station is playing. You want to know: slide, tap slide... Want to know the time? Look sharply at the upper right corner of the central screen for the very small figures, here also looking away from the road. With the previous software it was in large characters and also on the driver display just in front of you. There is more annoyances that one only realises after some days or weeks of use. It will most probably not lead to customers returning their car because of this, but with the nickpicking, maybe the designers and marketing managers will be more open to user experience before their customers stay away. So please persevere!
