I had no idea he was a GM until after the game, if I'd have known I might have taken some more time in the early game to focus haha, but I need to respect every opponent, regardless of their rating! @@Blunder_Man Yeah, I see it as a small token of appreciation. Only channels with a gazillion views can make money on youtube, but the best content usually comes from small channels like yours. Tough one. I feel like end games are the least exciting thing to learn, in comparison to openings, and tactics etc. But probably most important? GGs. You didn't play bad!

I think they are def important. But this guy I played really didn't mess up for the entirety, he missed a few wins, but he didn't give me any opportunity to get ahead, so I think I shouldn't have been worried about going for a draw. I need to be more open to that in my mind haha

just trying to analyse myself as I'm watching. only 900 elo so I apologise if I'm wrong but at 27:37 when you played d5 after all the trades black can play hxg5, you recapture with the rook on d5 and can then add pressure to your pawn on e6 and h4 which both seem pretty week after losing the g5 pawn (please correct me if I'm wrong though I'm not trying to criticise just wanted your insight on it and whether you'd calculated this or not) On another note amazing video, even if you lost the first two games it was great to see how someone 800 elo higher than my calculates and analyses their games, I hope I can take these skills and use them myself
@Blunder_Man2 күн бұрын
Good calculations, yeah, I think one of my big problems is I don't calculate far enough in a line, if I'd have calculated a little further then I think my pawns are weaker after all those captures. I think centralizing my knight is a much more solid plan, this would improve my knight as right now it's a fairly defensive piece. I think in chess instead of calculation calculation calculation we need to make simple moves, improve my knight or even the pawn to f4 improves my position, but I think the knight move is clearly the right move.

With that queen trap, if you bring the queen up instead of trading knights, does his queen then end up still being taken? It's only a mistake according to the engine, which makes me wonder if I'm missing something?
@Blunder_Man4 күн бұрын
Yes, I realized this after in the analysis that I would have simply won his Queen and he would have won both of my knights. So that's +2 for me, since he won my pawn as well. I went with just winning his one knight which was +2, since he won my pawn, but in retrospect I think I should have taken his Queen
