Well made video. Keep them coming. I don’t know much about diesels but have a 20 year old kubota tractor. So my question is how do you check compression on a diesel?
@RaincoastDiesel11 күн бұрын
Thanks! Diesel compression testing is basically the same as for a gas engine but you need a higher pressure tester and you will connect with an adapter in place of the glow plug or injector instead of the spark plug.

Nice job! One thing that might be worth mentioning (maybe you did and I missed it) is that there's a stack of one or more shims between the pump and the block. It looks like a gasket, but the thickness of that stack is how you adjust the timing, so if you disturb those shims, you need to put back the same thickness when reinstalling.

Yes you're right. I didn't mention that but it's something to watch out for.

A little 2 stroke oil in the fuel will help eliminate sticktion

Thanks, never heard of that one. I normally use Diesel Kleen additive.

ATF works even better
@iainmacdonnell7618Ай бұрын
I've read differing opinions on this. The ones I'd tend to believe are that ATF contains additives that are not designed to be burned in fuel, and can leave nasty deposits, and that it's designed to prevent slipping in a transmission, which is sortof the opposite of what you're trying to accomplish. Ashless two stroke oil seems like a better idea.

In another video there was a person who put a dust collector hose plus a HVAC boot on their chipper instead of the bag. Not sure if it'll help put the material in a cart well, but would keep it in the compost area.

I bought the smaller version wrks great, but as noted in this review the leaf bits and fine debris blew back around draw string. Thinking of building a cage with screen to catch the leaf debris as I want the fine material. Also I was concerned about possible fire hazard with fine material blowing past hot engine and exhaust.

I guess if you want reduce the size of the pile 15:1 for transporting. Or reduce the size of your fire from say, burning man proportions to a controlled fire in the back yard while relaxing with a cold beverage. Personally I'm more comfortable with my kids tossing wood chips into a fire than large tangled branches. But hey, thats just me.
