Thanks for this Video🙏 I actually love Shockwave in Dark of the Moon, he looks so menacing (i argue more than Megatron), he is imo really strong, and he did nothing dumb in this Movie. That he wasn't destroying the whole Autobot-Cast and playing Chess with all was to be expected. And he tanked like a champ, look for example Soundwave in DotM. Bumblebee destroyed him, but Shockwave was HIM. Also he left a big impression on me when I watched the Movie, the moment things fell from the skyscraper and he noticed it in Slow-Motion was so intimidating. He noticed it, probably calculated that it could be a thread, and dealt with it pretty logical. But I get why many were disappointed with Shockwave, idk how it was in the rest of the world, but in Germany every poster was Shockwave, Toys, Videos, etc. I thought he would be THE Villain of the Movie. Shockwave was great in DotM, a Deception that had more screentime but got a trash death was my boy Starscream. I loved how OP he was in Transformers 2007, and his Voice starting with Revenge of the Fallen was perfect for the scheming second in command. And he gets taken out by Sam. So Shockwave got the good ending!

I love Shockwave in dark of the moon he is so cool!!! Honestly my head canon for his drill bot was that he used the corpses of the fallen autobots to make it which is why Optimus literally yelled “YOU DIE” to him while he killed him

Blotzwave I have a question(just curious) If Shockwave knows the firepower of Prime's trailer, then why did he not destroy it immidiately?.. the scene where he was surprised attack the autobots cause prime's trailer to flipover then when he comes out he did nothing to do with the trailer even he knows the power of that trailer... just curious(Shockwave is also one of my favorite) thaank you in advance!!

I always like DOTM Shockwave, but I was upset by the way he dies in the film, and this video solved that problem for me, and showed me that Shockwave was even smarter then I thought he was in this film, amazing video man, 11/10, keep up the great work!

how do you feel about the Beeverse Shockwave design for how short we seen of him

This was a surprisingly good video. I believed a few points were a bit reaching, but as the video went on I definitely became more convinced that they had Shockwave's characterization definitely in mind when writing the film. Now though my issue shifts to how the film presented its information - the film could have made all of your points so much more clearer within itself, very easily: as a quick example, when the Autobots first realize they were betrayed by Sentinel, it would have been beneficial to maybe include a quick cut to Shockwave caring for his Driller or plotting or something, sort of to make the audience remember back to his staged attack near the opening, making them go "ohhh" and consciously re-contextualizing its events. But then, this is the same film that answered the question of "How did the Russians get an engine part from the Moon during the 60s?" with Buzz Aldrin saying "somehow", lol. Anyways great vid, and definitely props for it being well-researched! (Particularly in being familiar with the Movie comics, I love them lol). Feels like too many TF fans have only watched the films and EITHER TFA or TFP, being completely oblivious to its rich history in comics, anime, and even just the older western cartoons... (Speaking of the anime, it would've been neat if you were able to slide in Tidal Wave or Laserwave's depictions in Micron Legend and Superlink respectively as a point of comparison, since they both were attempts at reinventing G1 Shockwave for the first time, but it prolly would've strayed too far from the topic so it's not the end of the world lol.) Personally I seriously doubt if AoE and TLK had even a fraction of the thought and care for the franchise that the first three films did, so I don't think any similarities to MTMTE's concept of empurata were intentional (especially since that comic didn't even start til after DotM), but I agree that it's at least a fun headcanon, yeah. But yeah, big kudos to you for wanting to focus on how Shockwave's character was sold by the film itself though, as opposed to just saying "read the movie comics" like me, lol.

In universe A Steven Hawking exists exactly how he was in our universe, except that he also spoke Chinese. In universe B Steven Hawking doesn't speak Chinese, instead speanding all that same amount of time, money, and energy learning Spanish. In universe C Steven Hawking didn't learn Chinese or Spanish, and instead speant all of that time and energy learning German. Yet in universe D, Steven Hawking is just as smart, yet instead of learning a second language, he spent that same time, money, and energy learning more about the theoretical models of spinning black holes. yet if he spent however much time learning a second language, and then spent that same amount of time studying more science. Then he would be more knowledgeable in that scientific field.
