For the folk into weightlifting - is the limiting factor usually the clean or the jerk (at a high level)? Or does it depend on the person?
@AdStellae-23 күн бұрын
Mostly depends on the person and their training regimen. Generally speaking, the Chinese have a really stable overhead though. (Tian shown here is the exact opposite though, as his cleans are never the limiting factor. He has some difficulties with his overhead position, possibly a remnant from his elbow injury when he was 17.)

The way he catches it in the bottom and his face changes- you know he knows he’s done it- despite being slightly off balance and having to run it out a bit. Imagine being so strong and powerful and stable with 484lbs over head that you know you’ve successfully completed the lift even being slightly off balance in the hole. Unimaginable.

Why doesn't it look like his hips reach full extension after standing up from the receiving position? I also notice his elbows look slightly flexed, whereas some other Olympic lifters have more extension of their elbows.. Not that this would matter too much

Hristov's femurs are shorter than the other two and likely has better proportions overall imho. Speed under the bar is similar in all three. Better proportions gives Hristov less distance to travel.
