I've owned my GR86 in automatic for about a year and a half now, same situation. lots of traffic on highways even. its just more comfortable to me to not have to play 1-2 all the time. Been there, done that, don't need to do it again lol.

I learned how to drive manual on an '80s Ford Probe, and I liked it. But let me tell you ... once I experienced paddle-shifting, it opened up a whole new world. You get the control of shifting exactly when you want to and keep the feel of being directly connected to the engine and the wheels, without having to tap-dance with the pedals. The only time this car isn't in Manual mode is when it's in Park or Reverse. I bought my 2016 BRZ Limited Auto (paddle shift) in 2022. I wanted first-gen because I don't like the duck-bill spoiler on the second-gen. Even the extra horsepower and torque wasn't enough to sway me to get the newer version. Mine was also a great buy, as it only had 13.8k miles on the odometer and it had a clean title. I love driving this car, even during Minnesota winters. It's absolutely the best car I've ever had. My new transmission preferences: 1. Paddle-shift Auto 2. Manual 3. Auto

Castro sucks to be honest I had never had a oil light come on with any brand of oil until I started using Castro literally I am very delicate with my services so depending on how I drive the vehicle I end up doing services anywhere from 2000 miles to 5000 miles max Depending how I rev it but a few times that I’ve used Castro I have either busted a piston ring on a jeep or thrown rot on a hemi or produce a hell of a lot of metal on my GTI and the reason I produced a lot of metal was only because I got a oil pressure light while driving itstay away from Castro use liquid

I have catless downpipe and res delete and the car sounds amazing, it's a bit loud but if i close the windows it's good, my friend got a full straight pipe and that thing is loud and doesn't event sound that clean. Pretty much all gtis sound better with downpipe, res delete not sure it makes much difference besides the added turbo whistle

Might wanna raise it lower it sell it they might wanna raise it lower it sell it they might wanna raise it lower it sell it everything you said makes no sense If I lower my car have camber it a little adjust the spring rate a little adjust the dampener a little why would I wanna change it all the time? Go to track might raise it and adjust dampener might be perfect for street and track as is 🤷🏼♂️ so yea I’ll keep it at one level cause that’s what I adjusted it all for 💀

Slower cars stick is cool. Once you get faster high end cars, automatic is way faster than stick.

one of my friends owns an automatic sports car and people tell him he doesn't "deserve it" because he didn't get for the manual. you know what he tells them? "why would you be so upset over a car that isn't yours unless you were jealous?"

I had 2017 86 auto for 3 years. To be honest I love my car looks but I'm disappointed for everyday driving it, It becomes getting boring every day specially at the free way my car feel so slow even minivan can pass me😅 let's admit it 86/brz are slow for sportscar. But I enjoyed it for 3 years then I sold it and I bought my chicane yellow 370z MT. Any I'm so happy driving it everyday❤ no regret

I had a 2016 GTI from 34k to 126k and about 7 years. The only major thing I did to it was walnut blast the intakes and that is preventative maintenance. I did 3 DSH services, 3 sets of spark plugs, regular oil changes, 2 set of coilovers, and some other bits and bobs. It never left me stranded and I never had a major repair.

100% this! Interval is WAY more important than brands. Please NEVER wait 10k between changes! Every 5k with a reputable brand synthetic will add years and miles to the life of your motor, regardless of what car/truck/van/motorcycle you drive!

105k miles with a 2018 TSI 1.8t with a stage 1 unitronic since it hit 25k miles and no major issues so far just brakes sparkplugs, coils and a o2 sensor once. I live in the rust belt.

Yoo I have the same issue with CarPlay. When it doesn’t work off the cold start, you gotta reboot the infotainment by holding both knobs simultaneously (No Diddy).
