This song is full of hidden meanings and references to the greater story being told. This is what I get, and what I have seen others get from the song and video. If you look at the bread bag, it's Ned's Breads. Ned, the little gremlin creature whose face on the bread, is a representation of Tyler's creativity. So as he's riding back to Josh, he's tasting the bread like he's running through his creative process. Trying it out, and tossing away the parts that don't seem to taste quite right. You can see his face as he takes bites of the one bun, and as he tosses it away. Like something's off about it. As he's going through this, he's also going through the storms of depression and anxiety. Hence why everything goes dark, and he's pelted with the rain and debris of his own inner turmoil. When he gets to the kid, it's like he's talking to his younger self, the kid asking if he solved all his problems, to which he responds "in a way", which I interpret as his music. Which is why he gives the kid a hamburger bun (Which the small sign on the stand also says "or one hamburger bun" for the lemonade), because the way he's 'solved his problems' is by using that creativity to make music. He also talks about being the champion of a world you can't see, which I believe is a reference to the Dema story line, where he is the 'champion' of that world, trying to break the cycle of depression which that story represents. From there, he goes through more storms in his mind before finally making it to Josh. However his inner turmoil has affected the thing around him, as it happens so opften to people who suffer from mental illness. What happens in their head tends to bleed into reality, whether it be through withdrawing into themselves, or lashing out at those around them. This is shown by the wet, soggy hamburger buns at the end. The storms in his head have affected his creativity, and he doesn't want Josh, (or I assume others) to see this. He doesn't want to burden them with it, and tries to deal with it all himself, so rather than going to Josh, he turns around, and backslides to the start, getting another bag of buns.
