keep going with your original plan to get to 10 years Andy! Overall you still seem happy with Red Ranger :)

As bad as this was the really bad thing is paying $15,000 FSD and not being able to use it on a different car when you buy a new car. It's just a software license so as long as you're not using it on 2 different cars at the same time there should be no limit on transferring it.
@ftllum21 сағат бұрын
I was stuck at 99% for about a month after Tesla replaced my windshield. It finally cleared after some highway driving.
@faisq422 сағат бұрын
I guess you should keep driving it…
@Augusto092622 сағат бұрын
You paid for a BETA software and want it be covered under warranty???? That’s not how BETAS work sir. There’s no such thing as FSD warranty. Trade your car in for the new M3 if you want a warranty again.
@Augusto092622 сағат бұрын
So it’s Teslas fault that you went to safelite?
@onarom2323 сағат бұрын
The money you would save by transferring your FSD to a new m3 seems like less than the money you would loose by trading in your car. But... how much revenue can videos of the new m3 bring you???
@jdmack2000Күн бұрын
Keep your car! I want to know how well it ages. I think the EV market is mature enough for a great used market. But, if you love the FSD then I guess take the deal. But for me after trying FSD for two weeks, Tesla would have to pay me to use it.
@roydelpozo4816Күн бұрын
If you sell it, you should sell it to one of your subscribers for what Tesla would give you for it. Yes you will lose the trade-in credit, but you will do a good thing for your subscribers. They will get a quality car that you have loved well. You will get a lot of goodwill from somebody.

With the FSD transfer, I would pull the trigger on a Highland. I went from a 2020 Model 3 long range to a 2034 Model Y long range. The tax credit and FSD transfer earlier this year really sweetened the deal.

Keep your current car. If everything works why replace it? I can't imagine selling my 2021 M3LR. In the end the decision is up to you but would you want to part with that car you've had this long?
@williamwaters4506Күн бұрын
You did a great job calculating the data. I wonder how much depreciation the electric car takes after five years? Ten years? I believe that the electric battery has a warranty of eight years. What is a ten year old Tesla worth with compared to a comparable Toyota with the same milage and age? Also, which car uses more tires?

Not a hack, you just properly recalibrated the cameras. I was shown this by the Tesla technician who replaced a camera on my MY. So yeah, Tesla should have known. Including the current price of FSD, you can buy a new, 6 year newer M3 Long Range for $20k. If you can afford it and still like the M3, it makes total sense to trade.
@TheGOFКүн бұрын
The Safelite price is about what I paid for a 2017 Ford Edge with a windshield camera calibration.
@tafl-9198Күн бұрын
Great job 👍 I would have complained to Tesla. You paid for nothing… Also $12.000 is insanely low. Doesnt make sense to trade it in at all. Perfectly good car.

Did the Tesla Service Center try unhooking the 12v battery AND the HV Battery (the connection under the rear seat)? I had to do that to mine when I replaced my 12v battery after replacing it. I made a service appt because I couldn't figure out why the 12v battery warning wouldn't go away, but the appt was 2 weeks out, so on a whim I decided to pull the rear seat bottom and disconnect the HV connection and the 12v. Hooked it back up and it's worked fine ever since (6+ months ago).

I had a Tesla mobile tech tell me that other glass companies such as Safelite don’t do everything that needs to be done when replacing a windshield. I’ve had three windshields replaced, all by Tesla, and NEVER had a problem with my FSD.

I am now about to trade my 2020 model 3 for the new Highland. Reasons: 1. A much improved car 2. My 3-year warrantee expired, and it cost $435 to replace a $59 outside speaker. 4. FSD is transferrable. I too am disappointed that my car is only worth 21K in trade but, I am saving 8K on FSD. 4. after a test drive on the new model, 5. I WANT ONE!!! Mine has been a great car and service to this point has been excellent save the labor charge for the speaker replacement. BTW, I have only 27 thousand miles on this car with new tires. You would not regret owning the new model.

Get the new one and keep both until you can private sell the 2018. I did this and currently have both cars (both red AWD). I transferred FSD to the 2024 and have an FSD subscription for the 2018. The 2024 is amazing and totally worth it! PS switching back and forth between stalks and no stalks will screw with your brain for awhile 🤯🤣

I ordered a 2024 model 3 rwd ultra red. Supposed to deliver mid July but I'm worried about what you said about feeling like a boat or a cloud. I hate driving cars that have extra movement over bumps like an SUV. Makes me feel noxious 🤢 I prefer a stiffer suspension that keeps you stable/steady. I hope it feels the right way. Rigid suspension>soft suspension.
