What about an updated V-1 from WW2 with a huge warhead that could be manufactured cheaply and fast against larger targets and in swarms???

All these drones require a communication link for control. I would think EMP weapons could disable some drones. How vulnerable are these drones to EMP or jammers?

The A-10 Thunderbolt could operate in the lower domain of drones and shoot down or disrupt the flight of a drone swarm with a relatively high speed fly by. This strategy can be combined with other field integrated solutions such as shoulder laser systems and laser mounts on armored ground units. Additionally, the A-10 would be a candidate for carrier duty as a possible cost effective mid to long range defense against a drone swarm. The A-10 can mitigate the range and weather condition limitations of ship mounted laser systems. Just two to four A-10s per carrier fleet can operate as an aerial tank defense against boat swarms as well. Because the A-10 can engage incoming threats in the medium range to long range, it nullifies the enemies strategy of overwhelming the carrier groups defenses.

The “Booker” needs defense against drones and other such threats that will arise from battles from less powerful nations but who can afford many drones to attack the superior enemy forces without tanks or artillery of their own

Ukraine war has proved that cheaper and mass produce drones can be just as effective. This is wasting taxpayers' money on expensive and limited amounts of drones.

Using a 'swarm' of armed drones, 20, 40 or even 100 regardless of size could inflict significant damage to a Russian brigade, an airport or a fuel depot.

Are they equipped with self-destruction capabilities ? If not, why not ? Hasn't anybody learned from the technology that has been copied and reverse engineered from equipment and munitions that have already been lost to enemies ??

I think allied countries should really be careful on what and how much technology they share with countries like Turkey. They seem to be in league with the allies right now, but everyone knows how fast they can change sides !!

Ughh, that range with its weight and speed with that tiny motor is highly suspicious. Also, 190kph is painfully slow for an air vector

There are two broad applications: 1. Attacking point targets, a tank, a Hq, artillery positions, etc. One drone sinking a ship is stunning. 2. Scouting/identifying targets for other weapons. The drone as scout is dramatically effective. Can go faster and deeper than a human scout. It will continue to be a move-countermove as these system evolve.

anytime you use $10k weapon to destroy a $1mil weapon, you win. Likewise, a $1mil rocket to destroy a $10k drone you lose.

Search youtube for slaughtbots DUST, if you want a glimpse into the future of drone combat. It's not about big expensive drones, although I can imagine they may have their place. What would be more advantagouse tens of thousands of small cheap weaponized drones or a couple of big and expensive drones? Small equates to difficult to detect. While thousands equate to difficult to stop. Weaponized small cheap drones are also a real problem for governments. Doesn't matter if you are big and powerful like the US. A coordinated attack using thousands of cheap drones could reak havoc on military and government alike. Extrapolate the slaughtbots concept and governments have real problems. The latest advances in chip design will increase prossesing power and decrease power consumption. Advances in AI will change the way drones travel to and identify their targets. Imagine one drone guaranteed to eliminate one combatant. Produced in bulk for a few dollars. Remember modern bullets, their shape, casing, propellant, firing cap, etc. where once new technology and expensive to produce.
