I thought that intarsia included rounding over all the edges to give it a 3D look. Ron USCG RET

I didn't think rounding over the edges between the different colored sections of the butterfly's wings looked natural here so I didn't do it. I have other intasia pieces like a horse's or dog's head portrait where I do extensive roundovers.

Thanks for the video. My wife loves hot air balloons. I want to cut this out for her. Where do yo get your 1/4 inch Baltic Burch plywood? I have been buying 1/8 Baltic Burch and much from Amazon. When I looked for 1/4 inch the price really shot up which I expected.
@bobshomewoodshop7996Ай бұрын
I usually get my Baltic birch plywood in 30 x 30 sheets from my local hardwood dealer. I did, however, but a dozen 12x12 sheets from Amazon when someone ran a sale on the site. I think I paid $1 a sheet.

I had to laugh when you said at your age you should buy what you want. I totally agree, but my wife says I won’t get the use out of it. Maybe not but i sure will enjoy my last days. I have a hegner multi cut 2, it is a good saw but I like you have a hankering for a Pegas. I just need to find a retailer in the UK. Thanks for the video.
@bobshomewoodshop79962 ай бұрын
I got a smile out of your reply. I love working on the Pegas scroll saw, and last weekend I went to a store closing where I got a heck of a deal on a Next Wave Shark SD100. I was a little concerned about what my wife would say, but she just said, "Happy birthday" (my birthday was only about two weeks ago) and told me I deserved to have the things I want. I chose the right woman over 50 years ago!

If using a hand-held router makes you nervous (which deterred me for a long time), there are other uses such as holding a workpiece while you are sanding. I'm not trying to sell a product anyway, I'm just giving my opinion to maybe help others decide whether to buy.

It's a great way to make thin stock when none is available. Just make sure to be cautious. By the time you get to the last cut, a LOT of the blade is exposed. I slow down and get very careful when resawing.

If it is anything like the axminster which it looks like,you can fine tune the vibration by rotating the motor slightly.

I'm sorry, but I am not familiar with the axminster. Vibration is pretty low on this machine. I know the motor can be turned, but I don't remember what function that serves. I'll try to remember to look it up in the owner's manual and get back to you.
