i understand this video really well and do acknowledge that media has messed our concept of love, but for me personally even though i am aware of the hyper-reality facade all of us indulge in is not true and is well...not real, i still don’t have the conviction to let go of it. i have never dated and not really had a crush on someone in my entire life but i absolutely enjoy romance books and tv shows and i would be lying if i say i don’t crave the same chemistry the characters show but in real life my views on just people in general is very critical. my two best friends are in a healthy relationship (as much as i know) and i have seen one of them fight, like fight really badly with her partner. they still made up after all, but i still wonder all the damn time that why would anyone want to sacrifice so much of their own mental health and studies and risk everything just for this one person who hurt you so much, and the answer is that its true love...i respect that but i don’t know, i could never imagine loving someone this much and i do love and care about people, i really do and i like it but i can't give all of me to anyone, and yeah it sounds really selfish and its my own flaw which maybe keeps me from making extreme deep connections with friends or people but i just really love my boundaries. yes i can sacrifice them in desperate need and help others but not everyday. its very burdensome. i don’t know if this mindset is wrong or right but to me it really matters a great deal. and i sometimes worry that maybe i won't be able to find anyone who will ever endure this attitude, it does concern me but on second thought it is something i don’t prioritize... on my defense (however delusional ane unrealistic it sounds) some of my hobbies like figuring out storylines and admiring kpop idols and reading and watching shows just give me more pleasure than anyone else does.. also i just realized it might give me more pleasure because no one (except my family) has ever given me so much that it encompasses the pleasure i feel when i watch or read or listen to my hobbies. omg wtf guys i don't know why i wrote an essay but whatever great video btw ❤

Everything is a social construct! It just so happens that many of these constructs are more reliable and consistently aligned with reality than others.

Hi there, Oli. Love your videos and really admire the effort and quality you put in. I did just want to say that I find your use of body language slightly distracting when using a webcam. I find your body language quite helpful within your videos but I believe it could be more effective if you were further from the camera. Anyhow just a little grievance, looking forward to future content <3

Native English teachers are assigned to elementary schools. In other words, the first foreigners that Korean children encounter every day are the U.S., Britain, Australia, and Canada. Their ethnicities are diverse, including white, black, and Caucasian or eurasian-Asian, Asian-asian(you like this way right? you call yourselves like "A asian country name-american"). The important thing is that Korean children's education leaves a deep mark on their emotional foundation, and when they grow up, they become familiar with and homogeneous with the women and men of these countries. 'Therefore, there is nothing more ridiculous than to say that Koreans are Asians with similar emotions with you asians. Koreans do not feel any homogeneity toward you Asians.' It's just indifference and no feeling to you That is why you asians often call korean racist. But we know that the more we move away from you asians, the more important it is that people around the world will become attracted to Koreans.(maybe..within hundreds of years, there will be many Korean children from many white-korean women in Korea. In other words, it will return to the genes of ancient Korea???👩🏻👱🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍🦰🤭)

One day my phycology teacher said love was also effort as much as it was infatuation. It’s a choice to love. You have to work out issues and talk about them and comprehend them and still decide to stay. When you stay you know you love them. That’s what he said love was. Just staying with them. I think that’s so nice.

I love the wizard liz and I think you're misunderstanding what she's putting out, maybe its because of some insecurity that you feel or maybe not, idk, but either way you have to really listen to the topics she talks about and the subject of her podcasts, taken out of context they can sound rude when they aren't.

I think it's difficult for older generations to understand this kind of humour because our satire and irony used to reference bigger cultural events like popular films, news stories etc. whereas with the internet there are endless extremely specific references that people who spend most of their time offline/didn't grow up in this landscape could never understand. It can feel very exclusionary, and I find it frustrating and low key triggering as an autistic person seeing everyone with a very "iykyk" attitude to never explaining jokes, but I understand that younger people have grown up with this fast pace of information and it's difficult to explain so many layers of reference and irony. I'm still trying to learn, but I appreciate it's a different cultural language, and that maybe it's just not for me and that's okay. I hope the coping mechanism of being afraid of sincerity passes though, but I think that's mostly a part of growing up as everyone (me included) used to be sarcastic and repressed when I was younger lol (I'm 32).

There are women with German genes coming out of ancient Korean tombs, and most Korean scholars are either quiet or reticent about this. Know that Korea's first ancient country, Gojoseon(established in 2333 BCE) was a Eurasian ethnic country. Therefore, there is no problem if the white ladies here imitate Korean women or have their appearance modified like korean ladies. This is because the ancestors of Korean women 20,000 to 45,000 years ago, or 10,000 years ago, or thousands of years ago coincide with those of white women. Know that Koreans treat their genes carefully in Korean academia. You should know that there are Caucasian traits in Korean faces. That's why there are reasons why women like 'Eurasian countries'--> Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Uralians(Komi,Sami peoples too), Altaics, Tungus, Siberians, Kyrgyzstan etc who have their own pride about sound sense of identity and even Aryan, Iranian and white ladies,, adapt well to Korea and get married with korean men('search white ladies korean man couples on youtube'), and their appearance is so similar to ours.(Genetic Ingroup-"Cavalli sforza race genetic tree") On KZfaq, countless other pure or real Asian race like east or southeast asians(OUTGROUP) are posting videos trying to make 'Eurasian Koreans(=NEA=northeast asian)' their own race through either genetically engineered or pretending to be Korean. We hope White peoples know that we DESPISE EXTREMELY these ASIANS .

Hun, if you speak of "climate change", then your no different than the braindead zombies in that movie. Why don't you ask yourself why it's not called global warming anymore, or maybe ask your parents if the message your hearing nowadays is familiar to them.

Never forget. There may be an infortunate history of tension. We also have many beautiful moments of unity. You only need to look at the anime community to know that. Its never been perfect but theres times when we truly vibe with another. Anime, food, music and culture are large parts of that. Im grateful my mom introduced me to Chinese and Japanese culture early where i grew up in NYC.

I can count on one hand how many times white people have been racist to me, but I’d need to borrow a few people’s hands to count how many times black people have been racist to me. Not all of us are rich, sellout pieces of shit and we don’t deserve to the treated like the white man’s lapdog. We come here with nothing but the clothes on our backs and try to carve out a life from nothing. Our youths grow up poor and in the shit, having to help out by working as children in order for their families to be able to make ends meet. Minorities should band together in support of one another, not tear each other apart.

As a girl born and raised in Asia, I have to say that sajiao or aegyo is sometimes seen as a strategy in socializing. Using sajiao can help you navigate non-harmful social situations in a gentler and milder way, so no one feels embarrassed.

Korean culture has completely destroyed & excluded the Asian things and westernized the Korean things. People who take pictures with Blackpink members are American or European, not Asian. Remember that Korean culture is NOT Asian things.

Hi! I really enjoyed your video and I think you brought up a lot of valid points. Generally, I agree with you! We live in the age of entertainment in a sense and (as you brought up in the video as an example) we stop caring about the true meaning of what is being said, but rather just pass it along because it entertains us. Same with news shows, social media, rumours etc., like when you said that the most insignificant drama gets picked up by content creators and extrapolated. However, I think you missed a little to talk about how gossip and this kind of entertainment always existed. In the video, you make it seem as if in the past, everyone was interested in their political education (such as when you mentioned the seven hour speech) and so on, but in the end, I believe that maybe people just attended the speech because they had no other forms of entertainment. Humans always seek to be entertained, and as far as I'm aware, gossip and this kind of "misinformation" or "irrelevant information", if you will, was crucial for keeping social cohesion and forming bonds with people. Your point is still valid (from my point of view) that we are drowning in entertainment like we never did, but this is also based on how we have always lived, just more intensified. Instead of gossiping about the affair of the neighbour, we're now talking about the Kardashians. What in the past was a seven hour debate that entertained us and made us talk about it at the dinner table became a short-witted debate between political leaders. This is to say that modern media has simply used what we already had and intensified it. I personally don't believe it's a new phenomenon, in that sense, just kind of an upgrade to what we already did. Either way, sorry for the long paragraph! The video was very enjoyable nonetheless, even though I missed this part, and because of that just had this little thought in mind:) And obligatorily, sorry in case of any English mistakes, it's not my first language!

Thank you for bringing this up! I grew up in Markham which has a very very high Chinese population (I am south Asian) and faced a lot of racism from my Asian peers despite the fact that I am also Asian lol. I think there’s also an enormous difference between the histories of Asian people that have been victims of colonization and Asian people who haven’t. I felt constantly racially gaslit whenever I would try and talk to my peers about racism because they could always say “I’m a person of colour too” and then tell me it was all in my head. Having melanin makes a huge difference. I was raised to wary of white people because I understood the impact colonization had on my grandparents and as a result my parents as well, but all the Chinese kids in my school would constantly jump to the defence of white people and even colonization. It was incredibly distressing and draining having conversation about race with them, and I’m not even black lol I’m like a fairly light skinned south Asian.
